  1. actually Neil is probably a virgin, because in order to have sex you actually have to talk to someone and meet them face to face first. I know he's married and has a baby, but it's probably just for show.
  2. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ May 4 2011, 04:31 AM) QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ May 1 2011, 06:56 PM) his S&A tour solo was pretty good... until he got to the electronic part where it sounds like he's banging on garbage cans. That sounded pretty horrible... a low point in Neil's drumming career. I agree. That trash can shit sucked and I love Neil. He really fukked that one up. Horrible. Hey I forgot to tell you guys I was in Santa Barbara last week for Spring Break. I knew that I was close to Neil's house even though he was on the road touring with the band. So what's the point to stalk him right? Now I know he was married in Montecito Ca. which isn't too far to his home. Wendy and I and our girls actually saw Carrie and Olivia at the local Peet's Coffee House with some strange man on April 26th. I was quite taken back so I had to pull over and ask for an autograph and say hello. Carrie was very nice and Olivia warmed up quickly to my youngest daughter Skylar. She's 10. Anyway I was able to get Olivia to sign her autograph on a kid's menu that was stashed in our SUV. It's priceless. Olivia wrote, "Deare Skylar, niec to meat you. Luv, Oliva Purt" did you ask Olivia if she believes in God?

QUOTE (Mara @ May 4 2011, 01:35 PM) When I first saw the thread title, my mind finished the sentence with ". . .his cookies." I was going to say "...salad"
  4. I thought they were done 14 years ago after T4E. I never would have dreamed they'd still be touring in 2011.
  5. while I'm not a big fan of the Earthshine remix, it does bring out the hidden ACOUSTIC guitar parts that no one would have ever known was there before.
  6. Jesus = beard, Neil = clean shaven.... Neil = anti-Christ??
  7. QUOTE (nealpert @ May 3 2011, 02:00 PM) QUOTE (thebernreuter @ Apr 29 2011, 07:54 AM) Geddy's voice. I didn't go this tour because it's gotten to where it's too hard to listen to. I hate to say it because he is one of my all time vocal heroes, but he just cracks too much now. Either they need to space the dates out way more, play for less than three hours (no), play more instrumentals because they're better than ever instrumentally, or just stop. I don't want them to go out as an embarrassment like some of the shit "classic rock" bands; they're way too awesome and important to music for that. Geddy should just lipsync They could have done the olympics too actually his voice IS getting pretty bad. I first noticed it on the S&A tour. The last time I remember him actually sounding good was R30.
  8. haha I stayed up last night just to see it. Will Ferrell and Conan were hilarious... I wonder what that blue liquid was
  9. I can't believe 1991 was 20 years ago

QUOTE (Majestyk @ May 3 2011, 02:40 AM) Anyone who doesn't like S&A has come to expect WAY too much from the band. yeah I guess expecting them not to suck is expecting too much...
  11. I love VT... it's my second favorite Rush album, but this song just doesn't do it for me. I hardly ever listen to it.
  12. no, because as far as I know all that song is about is tarot cards or something lol
  13. I think it would be great if Neil simplified his solo, and got back to basics. The whole electronic part is unneeded really... just because they're there and they can make weird noises doesn't mean you need to use them. The electronic drums were cool 20 years ago but they're getting tiresome now. It also doesn't need to be 8-10 minutes long. I'd love if he went back to doing a solo like he did on ESL.
  14. QUOTE (Terrapin @ May 2 2011, 05:11 PM) So, the Bible Bashing Rush fans here are getting their collective knickers in a twist over Peart's anti-religion lyrics... Get over it people. The non-religious amongst us cannot stand having YOUR beliefs rammed down our throats, via TV Evangelical methods, billboard propaganda, fire and brimstone threats etc... Peart has every right to express himself appertaining to his views on such matters. Given the cyber "Witch Hunt" that seems to be rearing it's ugly head on this forum, it would appear that Peart got it exactly right back in '81. As many others have stated, if you don't like Peart's views, well you know where the door is. Please go and burn your crosses elsewhere. wow you poor people, having TELEVISION and BILLBOARDS shoved down your throat! I mean it's not like you can change the channel, or not look at the billboards... it must be so horrible for you! Now I understand Neil's pain!
  15. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ May 2 2011, 03:50 PM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ May 2 2011, 10:44 AM) Ok, so he's still a fairly good drummer and he hasn't pulled the carpet out from under Alex and Geddy's feet yet. Two positives. Any others, perhaps? Apparently good personal hygiene. And a good judge of who to avoid talking to. I dunno about that... he looks kind of sweaty and gross in all the concert videos
  16. maybe Neil would "find God" in prison
  17. QUOTE (presto123 @ May 2 2011, 02:14 PM) Threads like this is why sometimes I wish there were no internet. yeah... people voicing their opinions sucks!
  18. QUOTE (Cosy Toes @ May 2 2011, 05:18 AM) QUOTE (KenJennings @ May 2 2011, 04:59 AM) The drums and lyrics still work together to make good music, whether you agree or not!. that's debatable... have you heard S&A?

QUOTE (rushgoober @ May 1 2011, 09:41 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ May 1 2011, 10:53 AM) QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ May 1 2011, 01:51 PM) I couldn't care less what the lyrics say... the song rocks. I guess that's why I don't mind "Dog Years" either lol I'm in the "music first/lyrics second" camp too. It's why I like these two songs better than most of S&A, which had too much mid-tempo folksy-rock for my taste. But "Dog Years", despite being an up-tempo rocker, is still pretty annoying to me because of the lyrics. The lyrics are bad enough that they overpower the music. I'm definitely lyrics first. That's why I can't understand the whole mid-tempo complaint. Take an absolutely KILLER song like Armor & Sword. Does that song even have a tempo? Seriously, the lyrics are so moving and powerful, and the music just hammers it home. I really don't care how fast it is. Lyrics to a song like Caravan, however, just leave me cold. The music is killer, but that isn't enough to really make me want to listen to that song. And yeah, it might be part one of some epic, but it doesn't really hold up well on its own IMHO. It was released on its own. so I guess you don't like instrumentals?
  20. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ May 1 2011, 08:14 PM) QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ May 1 2011, 08:04 PM) another completely underrated song from VT... Ceiling Unlimited. It's a classic... and Geddy is singing like it's the 70s. YES. And it was wonderful live!!!!!!! I wish that was the VT representative at some point... I never got to see it live Unfortunately I think Geddy's voice has degraded over the last 10 years to the point where if he tried singing it now, he wouldn't be able to do it justice.

  22. QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ Apr 30 2011, 12:59 AM) I do have one important question... do we finally hear what's actually being said during The Camera Eye? (mornin' guv)
  23. QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ May 1 2011, 06:42 PM) QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ May 1 2011, 06:54 PM) so Peter's in the FUTURE?? wtf is going on?? Sit down tune in shut up hang on was I the only one who thought "John Connor" when they showed that final scene? I wonder if the machine is actually Skynet and it's turning against our world lol
