  1. Cool :D Big fan of Astra's debut, and I really wish The Black Chord was on Grooveshark. I just haven't gotten around to buying it yet. :haz:
  2. I've seen most of it and yeah... it's a bit weird and unnecessary. It pales in comparison to the likes of Yessongs and The Wall, but it isn't the worst thing ever.
  3. Huge fan of the Count Floyd opening :rfl:
  4. Been listening to this on Grooveshark past few days. It's really the first time I've given Steven Wilson's solo projects a listen. I really enjoy it :D
  5. Tried out a different record store today... they had a ton of amazing vinyl! For now, though I could only afford Yes - Yessongs Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses But I will definitely be going to back to Disc Exchange.
  6. Got to stay home and be lazy all day due to snow :D Although I had to briefly get up at 8 to shovel :|
  7. I love Mostly Autumn. I don't have all their albums but from what I've heard, Passengers is my favorite. A while ago, I listened to some Mostly Autumn, I think when an album of theirs was on Progstreaming. Good band, very melodic :)
  8. I actually rank The Wall 10th among Floyd albums! 1. The Dark Side of the Moon 2. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (fights for #1 position) 3. A Saucerful of Secrets 4. Meddle 5. Atom Heart Mother 6. Animals 7. Ummagumma 8. Wish You Were Here 9. More 10. The Wall 11. Obscured By Clouds 12. A Momentary Lapse of Reason 13. The Division Bell 14. The Final Cut To be fair, I think The Wall is brilliant, genius even. That said, I find it too depressing to actually listen to in its entirety, and I've felt that way for many years. Even though it probably deserves to be rated significantly higher (would have been #1 or #2 in my late teens/early 20's), I'm basing my ratings on what I'm actually most apt to listen to. An album can be really great, but if I never want to actually listen to it, it's hard to rank it that highly. Good list, although Wish You Were Here is way too low ;) As for The Wall, I have found that the movie soundtrack is much more enjoyable to listen to and far less depressing. The songs are somehow more vibrant, maybe due to the extra sound effects. Also, there are some changes on disc one that make Pink a more sympathetic character. Also, What Shall We Do Now? rules! :haz:
  9. Wow, ANYTHING positive to say, or only criticism? :P Other ELP albums have a LOT of great stuff on them: Tarkus, Trilogy, Brain Salad Surgery, etc., I just find them pretty inconsistent. Their first one to me is easily their most consistent. I never really got into Kansas - I have Leftoverture and I actually quite like it, but I haven't listened to it much - I need to get more of their early stuff. Spartacus was an oversight and should be on the list. In terms of Zappa, I considered it, it's just that he's only kinda sorta prog. I seriously considered Apostrophe. That and Hot Rats would be worthy contenders. And dude, sorry, but Tormato totally rocks. Criminally underrated, as is Time and a Word. I just didn't have the heart to leave out any 1970-1978 Yes from the list. So how about a list from you? Doesn't have to be as big a list. ;) :goodone: Tormato rules! :haz: And as for ELP, the debut and Trilogy are the most consistent for me... those would be on my list.
  10. I agree with all who said Jon Anderson... very happy lyrics :D
  11. Used vinyl find: Tangerine Dream - Le Parc Kansas - Monolith and Rush - Caress of Steel :D :D :haz:
  12. Echoes schmechoes. Gimme Not Now John anyday. (yeah, I've jumped the shark haven't I, although I may have jumped it a while back) In ALL seriousness, Echoes should be in the top 5, or top 3 even, of every list. Even non-PF lists. :goodone: Echoes is definitely one of the greatest songs written. Too bad the rest of Meddle is somewhat lackluster. :(
  13. There's no real reason to be mad... but I didn't do my homework last night so I had to finish it all during school (without a study hall). Blegh. :| Also, a few tests tomorrow. :(
  14. As for telling the age of a person by email service, I say that is somewhat true. Great email providers today (Google in particular) just weren't around years ago when everybody got their first email, and it's a pain to switch addresses.
  15. That was interesting. I'm happy for the people that got to do video chat! :D
