  1. Chain Lightning From first to last The peak is never passed
  2. Has anyone who went to the Vancouver show received their Gold VIP swag yet? I haven't heard anything, and the show was on July 17th. All I got was an e-mail telling me to come for crowd-free shopping. I wasn't interested in that and didn't go.
  3. What? I was there and it was packed! It was an incredible show, and to the other who are saying that Vancouver audiences are dead, that certainly wasn't true in my section. The place was rocking! :geddy:
  4. Works ok if your 6'4" like me. ;) I'm sure it does. :P I am 5'0" and I actually prefer the floor. In Vancouver, I was in the 8th row, with a guy in front of me who was 6'5". Ironically, I had the clearest view of the stage I've ever had! I had a clear line of vision on either side of this guy, and there weren't very many tall people in my line of vision. So it's really just the luck of the draw. I find the bowl to be worse for short people like me. :7up:
  5. I don't want to alarm you but I purchased tickets via tickets today for Vancouver on the first day of the presale, and I received the tickets during the first week of June. So you probably should put the pressure on and get some answers. Is there a number you can call? or any instructions in the e-mail you got on how to track the tickets? I don't have my e-mail handy here, so I don't remember what mine said. Hope this helps.
  6. I'm 5'0 and have never been able to see no matter where I sit. Since there probably won't be a next time, I've got floor seats, and I'm going to Rock!
  7. I voted "no" but there will be a second North American leg of R40. However, I think it will be a very short leg, possibly just a few shows added to this leg. Alex hinted in an interview that they are still working out a few details. I have an inkling that they will make Cleveland their last stop. The clue will be that at the end of the show Geddy will NOT say "see you down the road again sometime!" This is just my guess. I'm not happy about it, but all the signs are there that they're ready to retire, and that they wish to do it without any fanfare.
  8. Oh, that's too bad. We got two extra Vancouver tix from ticketstoday. I had hoped to have them in hand before trying to resell them. Light the torches...!!!! http://www.freewebs.com/witchcrafttrail/witch-hunt11.jpg

Light the torches...!!!! http://www.freewebs.com/witchcrafttrail/witch-hunt11.jpg LOL. I'm not trying to make a profit. I took 11th row left of centre. Then much better seats came up at 8th row centre. I'll try to sell the others locally before posting on these boards. Please understand, I,m only 5 feet tall and just once I'd like to see Geddy properly. There are usually too many tall people in front of me. I had lower bowl once and that was even worse.
  10. I would be interested in hearing details about your earplug. The last 2 concerts I attended. I had loud crackling in my ears after a few songs which really detracted from the enjoyment. I already wear a hearing aid in one ear, so I don,t want more hearing damage. I wear cheap earplugs now which help a bit. The worst was in Portland on CA tour. 3rd row Alex's side. Best view I,ve ever had, but Geddy sounded like Donald Duck. (Some rush haters would say he always sounds that way, but I love his voice and was so disappointed!). It might just have been b/c we were right under the speakers, though. I would like to get some good earplugs which will keep the quality of the sound while lowering the volume
  11. Oh, that's too bad. We got two extra Vancouver tix from ticketstoday. I had hoped to have them in hand before trying to resell them.
  12. I agree. Scalpers are scum. They are out in full force this tour, because the boys are getting older - I really think it's their last tour. Alex hinted at that when he was interviewed, by implying that Geddy is the only one anxious to get back on tour. Alex and Neil are ready to retire, I think. Therefore, I was willing to pay $500 each for a pair of tickets 8th row in Vancouver (VIP gold package). I had to keep trying - the site kept locking up, but I got the tickets eventually. I feel sick about the price though.
  13. You must be in the U.S. I just did the same as you, but for the Vancouver show. Thanks to the low Canadian dollar, I had to pay $1000. for the pair in Row 8 center. i was under the influence too - under the influence of my husband who wants to be in the first 10 rows. For me, it's probably not worth it - I love Rush, but I'm short and probably won't be able to see much anyways. Hope you feel better now! Enjoy the show!
  14. I love FB. I check it several times a day and stay in touch with my family. I also have far-flung friends and cousins around the world that I stay in touch with. I only have a few FB friends I've never met. They are all Rush fans. I think a lot of the negativity stems from people who have a lot of FB friends they don't know and/or subscribe to too many ridiculous pages. If you manage it well, FB is a great tool. I do like TRF too, although i've been away for awhile. It's great to be in touch again now that we are all a-buzz about the 2015 tour. Just got tickets for Vancouver - it seems a long ways away, and I'm not too excited yet. I'm very short, and can't usually see a lot, no matter where I sit. Oh well, it's RUSH! I have to go!
  15. I love, love, love Geddy's voice! I especially love the quiet songs like Rivendell, The Garden, the acoustic version of Resist on the R30 dvd. But I also love his voice on Everyday Glory and the older stuff where he screams, like on 2112. There seems to be something special about his voice during every era, and he knows his limits as his voice ages. On Clockwork Angels, he seems to have found a perfect balance for his voice. It seems he can sing anything well. I'm Canadian, so his rendition of "O Canada" at the baseball game a few years back just brings tears to my eyes. :rush: :geddy:
  16. Thanks! I would be happy in row 10 or closer, as long as we're not too far to the side. I've heard the same about Vegas, although I've never been there.
  17. I I'm wondering the same thing, but nobody seems to know for sure. I logged in the second the tix went on sale for Portland, but my e-mail time is 12:05. I'm hoping for the best!
  18. All three of the guys have indicated in interviews that touring is getting more difficult and tiring as they get older, so my guess is they're trying to keep the tours shorter to save their energy. So yes, I'm pretty sure this is it.
  19. The first time I listened to CA, I was disappointed. It was too busy and the instruments sounded all jumbled together. The second time I listened to it, I decided "The Wreckers" and "The Garden" were my favourites. The third time, I liked almost all the songs, and the album continued to grow on me. I do think it is a masterpiece - reading the book helped - it made me realize how all the songs are connected to each other and tell a story. Now I am thoroughly excited about hearing most of the songs played live this summer.
  20. You know you're a Rush fan when: 1. You always look around for Geddy when you're in a wine store. 2. You always look around for Alex when you're on the golf course. 3. You check every motorcycle that goes by to see if it's a red BMW. 4. You start reading books about people who make long journeys on motorcycles, even though you're terrified of riding on one yourself. 5. You always have Rush music playing in your head (I know this isn't original, but it's the one that's common to all of us on this forum!) GO RUSH! Can't wait to see Clockwork Angels played live this summer! :geddy: :rush:
  21. Wow! How did you manage that? I submitted my order as fast as could, and still got 12:05 in my e-mail. It's going to be a great show - trying not to fret about where the seats are. The closest I've ever been is 12th row, and I'm hoping it's as least as good as that this time around.
  22. I've seen some references onlne to the order time stamp for the VIP ticket packages. Apparently the order time is more important than the time of your e-mail confirmation. The time of my e-mail is 12:05. I can't find an order timestamp on my e-mail. Can anyone help me? Thanks! I am so excited about this tour!
  23. I absolutely love the setlist! I just wish I could be there to see them play all those songs, but it won't be happening this time around for me.
  24. QUOTE (driventotheedge @ Sep 12 2012, 02:40 AM) Seattle 11/13 selling real well, only nosebleeds left last I looked. Tuesday night show. You can't count Seattle in this equation. It's the only show for British Columbia, Washington and Oregon, so of course it will be full. We in the PNW always get the short end of the stick when it comes to Rush. I guess there aren't enough Rush fans out here, so we have to travel a long distance to the shows. Unfortunately for me, a weeknight in November doesn't work for me. It has to be a weekend or summer vacation for me to get time off work. There! I had to get that off my chest.
