  1. "Amour" and "Error" have become two of my favorite tracks on the album.
  2. This is good news, I've wanted to buy the Error CD and a shirt but I'm not paying shipping prices from Mexico.
  3. Cool to see how much this thread has taken off since I started it after going in blind to see them live in April. Still loving the new album.
  4. They sound great. I don't love them calling it Pantera but Zakk and Charlie have been very up-front in interviews that it shouldn't be viewed as a "reunion" and they're doing it to honor Vinnie and Dime. So I'm not mad at it. They got the right two guys for the gig.
  5. Wait to buy tickets until week of show. They're announcing these shows two years out so tons of people who bought tickets this week won't be able to go.
  6. Started playing drums and reading "Modern Drummer" magazine in 2001 when I was about 11, and you'd hear about Neil in there constantly name-checked by everyone as one of the greats. Around the time I started listening to classic-rock radio so I had heard all the big songs but I was more getting into Floyd and Zeppelin etc. during those years and Rush didn't really register. Then Neil was on the cover of MD around the time Vapor Trails came out and I read the interview and got the backstory of what happened with his family leading up to that record, so I went and bought it and put on "One Little Victory" and heard that double-kick intro and it was game over. Bought the rest of the catalog over the next 18 months and they quickly became my favorite band and have held that status for the last 20 years.
  7. If we're keeping it to "actually popular in the mainstream pop world" my answer is Billy Joel. Every single one of his songs sucks. I like zero of them and actively turn to something else when any of them comes on the radio.
  8. Dream Theater. Incredible musicians and I respect the hell out of the way they've built their career and following with virtually zero mainstream radio/media support. But none of their music does anything for me at all. I've tried for 20 years and it's all just so cold and clinical to me.
  9. The headlining show I saw last year (which led to me starting this thread) was at a club that holds about 500 people and it was pretty packed/good crowd, so I could definitely see them bumping up to 1k-capacity places now that they've had a ton of reps opening for massive names and have a little more name recognition.
  10. Wouldn't be mad at another round of headlining dates in the US
  11. The entry for this show in Wandering the Face of the Earth says: "Longtime fan Jim Bossier reports that 'I Think I'm Going Bald' was performed and that a bootleg recording existed at one point but has since been lost." Guess not!! According to the book, this is the setlist for the show: Bastille Day Anthem Lakeside Park Fly by Night I Think I'm Going Bald By-Tor and the Snow Dog Working Man (with drum solo) Finding My Way It's a shame this wasn't actually a Caress of Steel show so maybe we could get a recording of "The Necromancer" in this quality. But this is pretty cool. "I Think I'm Going Bald" isn't my favorite Rush song by any means but it's always cool when 40+ years later we finally get definitive proof that a song was performed live.
  12. There was an announcement in July of 2021 that they'd be doing a coffee table book about Neil's car collection, which he apparently completed writing before he died. https://www.rushisaband.com/blog/2021/07/27/5641/Neil-Pearts-Silver-Surfers-coffee-table-book-coming-soon Anyone have any idea what came of this? It's been over a year since it was announced and nothing.
  13. Based on the videos I thought they sounded tighter at the LA show than they did at the London show. Less mistakes.
  14. Dylan, Bowie and Neil Young are in a similar vein to Prince also -- stone-cold geniuses with MASSIVE discographies with some of the best and most important music ever recorded and some really terrible stuff along the way.
  15. IIRC the "full footage of GUP was found" thing came from an "interview" with Howard U. by a guy who used to post on here and Counterparts who we later found out just made the entire thing up and Howard never even said that. 2004 was a wild time.
  16. Land wherever you want to land on Waters' politics but I saw him last night and it was an INCREDIBLE show.
  17. I watched the entire thing live and I can honestly say that out of the 6 hours or whatever it was, there wasn't one bad performance or one I didn't enjoy.
  18. Ever since yesterday I've been down a rabbit hole of watching Nandi Bushell videos on YouTube. She's the coolest.
  19. The best part of the whole show to me was Grohl's daughter doing Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse covers.
