2. That is a good one. It's very nicely structured with a beginning, middle and end. The memories of his previous trip during his Ghost Rider days makes this trip very poignant. Yes, there is a bit of Rush information too.
3. 3. - If no captions are entered after 24 hours, the winner gets to put up another pic and judge accordingly. Well, this is the first time rule #3 ever happened to me so let's see if I can find something better... http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/image-4.jpg
4. I leave coupons I have for items I'm not buying on those items in the grocery store. I donated plasma for three years and never cashed the checks. I run 5 Ks and half marathons for charity even though I don't really enjoy running. I let people in front of me in traffic no matter how absolutely f***ing enraged I am. My pastor calls on me week after week to pray with people that have special needs and I do it week after week after week although I do not feel worthy to so and then I kick myself and say, HEY, who are you Big Shot? Get in there and pray you selfish doof. When people come up to me and say they need gas money and I ask them where their car is and they show me I tell them to pull up to the pump and fill the tank. That's a good one because most folks can't produce the vehicle. When people lie to me about why they ask for money I tend not begrudge them wether I believe them or not. I put up with my extended family.
5. Finally! Someone had the courage to say what we were all thinking! "All" means every little soul on this forum and you know and I know and the American people know it ain't so. Speak fer yerself pilgrim.
6. Thanks PM. It's baseball season so caption this: http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/image-3.jpg
7. I saw them in September and it was just a great show from beginning to end. They blew the roof off the place and the crowd gave them love all night. At the end of the show Dominic the drummer came out to the microphone and said, "Thanks Nashville, you f***ing rock!"
8. Yeah the boot camp part of Full Metal Jacket is really excellent. Platoon was pretty traumatic the first time I saw it. It's hard to judge between the two. I find Oliver Stone to be untrustworthy so I have to give it to Kubrick despite the weaker second half.
9. I'm so handsome I give the sun a reason to shine. Just don't be looking around in the Post Pictures Of You thread.
10. http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/image-2.jpg I've gotten a bit shaggy over the Winter and I don't think my hair has been this long in over a decade. Thought I might document it prior to being shorn.
11. Modern time that exists in jazz, blues, rock and so on came from Louis Armstrong. The first generation jazz folks always said, "Pops showed us the way." Jazz is an original American art form that has roots in negro spirituals, African music, classical music and a little bit of everything that was around in the late nineteenth century. I suppose we could keep going back until we eventually get to Adam tapping his fingers on a rock, but you will never convince a stubborn 16 year old that anything existed before they were born. There's lots of years of discovery ahead for the young folks.
12. For some reason I just pictured Neil reading this thread and laughing his ass off.
13. I was just remembering that the original Human Centipede movie was filmed in grainy black and white and had an overall greasy appearance and then I picked up my Bible and started reading aloud from the book of Daniel before my thoughts could progress any farther.
14. Alex just told me that they are opening the show with Madrigal.
15. The last great drum solo for me was on the R30 tour. Then it seemed to change just for the sake of change alone. On the latest tour I only liked the fast bit in the middle of Headlong Flight. I think I like them better on film where you can actually see what he is doing. R30 was filmed so well during the solo and I could finally catch all the details. Neil's solo DVDs break it down even better and I know some folks find them boring, but I love how he explains it all. The solo isn't going anywhere so I'll just hope for more cowbell on the next one.
16. Dagnabit they're playing the Ryman Auditorium again in Nashville. Sure it's an historic venue, but it began life as a church and the seating is on pews that they overstuff. You will get to know your neighbor's thigh at a show there. I would like to see them again just for Steve Howe alone and I have heard good things about the new singer and I would really like Jon Anderson to return and he may never so this might be very near the last chance and oh heck maybe I'll just travel somewhere to see the show.
17. That is the first song that popped into the forefront of my mind when I started reading this thread. They recorded another Andy Summers song, the b side "Someone To Talk To" that is a bit slow or even boring, but "Mother" is an awful turd on a great album.
18. http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/image-1.jpg I've found the Lars Von Trier films I've seen interesting every time, but maybe I waited too long to see this one. It was controversial back when it was new, but compared to other Lars Von Trier films it seems a bit weak and dated.
19. I finally caught up with all the episodes and it does go a little random and over the top a few times this season, but after season 1 I almost didn't watch it again. It is crazy fun in an intense everyone is a serial killer kind of way.
20. This one is great when you read it in a Cagney voice. Winner.
21. Thanks, good timing acause I gotta go. Chew on this one folks and I'll see you tomorrow... http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/image.jpg
