  1. Just watched/listened to the Black Crowes - Live at the Whisky in LA to debut their new EP. It was free off of twitch.tv. First time hearing bout twitch. Setlist: Rocks Off (The Rolling Stones cover) The Slider (T. Rex cover) You Wear It Well (Rod Stewart cover) Easy to Slip (Little Feat cover) Moonage Daydream (David Bowie cover) Papa Was a Rollin' Stone (The Undisputed Truth cover) (with Charlie Starr) Thorn in My Pride By Your Side She Talks to Angels Ballad in Urgency Wiser Time Remedy
  2. Felt great to celebrate 4/20 with my own homegrown bud.
  3. I remember the excitement of getting the new Rush. I was in the Minneapolis airport. Felt a little guilty getting the 'pirated' version but not really as I knew I was gonna be buying it on cd anyways.
  4. Thanks for creating the group. I put in 2 picks. My first entry is who I think will win. My second entry is who I want to win each match (and thus will probably finish in last place)
  5. It's now free for me as I can now legally grow.
  6. 2112, College basketball tie in. I am a Virginia Tech grad so I will be rooting for them tonight (have a slim chance to make the NCAA tourney so it is a must win). VT is currently 20-12 so a win tonight will make them 21-12.
  7. Guess this was close to being my first show as well. Hampton Coliseum and Cap Center were about the same distance where I grew up (Richmond) with Hampton being slightly closer. Had tickets to Hampton Coliseum which was a couple nights before the Cap Center show. Drove down (actually rode with my parents as I was 15 at the time) and we learned that the concert was being postponed due to Geddy having laryngitis. Luckily it got rescheduled to January and have been obsessed with seeing live music ever since.
  8. Happy birthday. :syrinx: :hail: :smoke: :smoke:
  9. Just learned the other day that the spaceships on the cover of the debut are guitars upside down.
  10. I did get Chronicles back in the day. With What You're Doing left off the original ATWAS CD and Passage to Bangkok left off the original ESL CD, I needed to have those tracks on CD. If it weren't for those two tracks, don't think I would have bought it. Too bad the 74 to 80 min CD length wasn't a little earlier.
  11. I am one of the biggest fans of COS so it was an easy vote for me. Probably my favorite album by anyone. That or Hemispheres. Love FBN as well but not as much as COS.
  12. I am in the same boat as you. Had tickets to the DC Crowes show in 2020 (was a toss up for me between that show and the Va. Beach show). The DC show was a Sat night, so got tickets for that one. When it got rescheduled, it ended up being switched to a weeknight and I had to travel for work and ended up missing it. So, I will probably try to hit at least one show for this summer. Glad to see Sven is back in the band. I haven't seen/heard anything about whoever is in the 'lead' guitar slot. As you know, I am such a Luther fan. That will probably be the deciding factor between seeing 1 show or several shows.
  13. Looks like a stellar line up. Warren Haynes Eric Krasno Larry Campbell
  14. I couldn’t see PeW at first then just noticed you’ll accidentally called it Natural Science That's funny. Not sure if I'm starting to lose it (cue the Signals reference) due to getting old, that I am on a drinking break, or that cannabis is now legal here.
  15. Hemispheres Caress Of Steel Farewell To Kings 2112 Fly By Night Moving Pictures Natural Science Clockwork Angels Rush Signals Grace Under Pressure Snakes and Arrows Power Windows Counterparts Vapor Trails Test For Echo Hold Your Fire Roll The Bones Presto
  16. I will probably do Raleigh and 1 of the Merriweather Post shows.
  17. I was gonna add some Zeppelin (anything of the debut album would work) so thank you for picking one. I'll add - Santana - Black Magic Woman (Fleetwood Mac)
  18. 4. Statesboro Blues - Fillmore East - Allman Brothers - (Blind Willie McTell) I could substitute Statesboro Blues with several other tunes off of Fillmore East that were all blues covers
  19. I miss rushgoober as well. After he stopped posting around here, I did follow his music blog (not sure if it was a 'blog' but it was a website he had to post about music).
  20. One of the worst bands ever made on the planet. Saw Trey in Oysterhead at The Greek. All the fuckking stinky hippie liberal pot smoking Dead fans came out. I was there for Les and Stew. Great show actually. Phuck Phish. Fish from Marillion? Yes. FISHBONE? YES! Don't you just love music opinions from some insulting asshole who likes Ratt???
