  1. So, I went into the doctor for pre-Ireland stuff and it turned out I had an ear infection. Okay, got on antibiotics. I seemed fine. Now I'm sick again with a bronchial infection and I'm back on antibiotics. Worst part is I'm taking PRAXIS exams (took two yesterday, two more this week) so my stress levels are high and then I have Ireland coming up. I just don't want to be sick on a plane. Gr.
  2. It ranges between $3.59- $3.69. We're a cheap state. The highest I've seen it was $3.75 unless it's gone up.

    Cats!

    QUOTE (Kenneth @ Apr 5 2011, 08:00 PM) http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x341/LE4893/1302048982332.jpg D'awww so much cuteness!!!
  4. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Apr 29 2011, 01:26 PM) The movie is sure to rock...but then it's over. Dude, I know! I stayed up all night reading the seventh book upon its release, which was so dumb because then it dawned on me that it was really over and then I was, like, "WTF." I may have cried. Granted, I was going on no sleep and I tend to cry when I don't sleep. I'll admit it. I'm woman enough to admit it. But damn straight does that son of a gun trailer look smokin'. I'll be there for the midnight premiere (as I've done since the first one), tired and crying.
  5. Missed The Red Stick Ramblers (ha, that was a bummer) and had to forego The Avett Brothers due to dehydration in the heat of New Orleans, but at least I saw M&S and also saw The Subdudes (the accordion player had the sweetest goatee ever). Next up: in Dublin on May 10th and again on June 12th in New Orleans! I'm totally psyched. And my friend and I are thinking of traveling to Chicago in August to see Muse at a festival. It's just being talked about, but who knows. We might.
  6. Due to circumstances, we totally missed The Red Stick Ramblers and didn't stay for The Avett Brothers (I nearly passed out due to the heat), BUT we saw Mumford and Sons (YAY!) and The Subdudes at JazzFest. My review is linked here at my blog The rest of the pics (all 110 of them, ha) are up on my facebook. If anyone would rather I copy and paste I can, but I don't think there are many or even any M&S fans on here. Shame.
  7. QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Apr 30 2011, 09:27 PM) So, uh, where is he? He responded to something I wrote in the epilepsy thread. It's where all the cool cats hang. But seriously, he's posted over there.
  8. Yesterday and today have just been bad. I wrote it all out and I actually feel better. I don't need to divulge into it though. My heart goes out to everyone in Alabama.
  9. To be honest I have no idea who has inspired hair styles because I don't keep up with trends, but here who has inspired mine with some crack variation at the end. And apparently Geddy Lee has inspired some ladies! This is who has inspired my current hair style: http://deltafilms.net.p4.hostingprod.com/images/DX/Zooey-Deschanel_50.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/Photoon2011-03-08at09472.jpg Past inspirations include: Because I have a lot of hair as does she When I wanted short hair We have a lot in common... I AM TOTALLY KIDDING! hehehe!
  10. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 28 2011, 07:19 AM) Alabama got SLAMMED with simultaneous tornadoes yesterday. GG and home are fine, but 50 people were killed. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/28/us/28storm.html?_r=1&hp http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/1001001/alabamastorm42711.jpg That is just so upsetting. My roomie and I watched that on the news last night until about midnight. It's hot and humid and muggy here (in the 90's). Jazzfest is going to be a bitch tomorrow.

    Dress codes

Right now: whatever I want until grad school and then I have to wear decent clothes (unless grad school doesn't pan out). Best job ever? Barn job. I got to wear jeans and nasty t-shirts and my favorite pair of boots. When I exercised horses then I wore my cheesy looking breeches and usually a tank and sports bra. My favorites were the DQs (Dressage Queens) who came out in Armani to clip their horses. I kid you not. Those women are made of money and let you know it. Thankfully my trainer was/is a cowgirl at heart and gave lessons in wranglers. But I got paid decently to wear muck clothes at the barn and play around with ponies. I miss that job so much.
  12. So, my mare has been lame and we think we've figured out what it is (another vet, not my personal vet), which is awesome because it's not what we initially thought (and what we initially thought is not good). So, heck yeah! I'm stoked and she was super peppy today at the barn and very good when I soaked her feet. I'm so glad I beat* good ground manners into her so that big buckets full of water don't scare her. *NOTE: I never beat her (nor would I ever), but I did teach her super awesome ground manners. Ha.
  13. QUOTE (rushfanNlv @ Apr 26 2011, 04:42 PM) Danny is finally awake and WANTS HIS LAPTOP! so I would expect some posts from him shortly. Yay!!
  14. Trail ride Saturday and I rode the "crazy Arab" who went to sleep on me. Oh, my stellar skills at putting the most crazy of ponies to sleep. Today... it's lovely outside, nice and breezy.
  15. This past Friday we had a friend over and I had to get my horse ready for a trail ride, then she came up lame, so I rode the Arab (horse, not a person). This Friday I will be at Jazz Fest.
  16. QUOTE (Drumnut @ Apr 25 2011, 12:50 AM) Thank you everyone! I excited and scared at the same time. I can imagine anyone would be considering this is brain surgery. I know when we found my tumor about four years back the best advice I was given by my neurologist was "shave your head" (which you've done) and "it's the hardest surgery to recover from so take your time." Don't expect to bounce back so fast and be patient. Know you have people on your side that are going to be strong for you when you can't be. Just take your time.
  17. This Friday I'm going to Jazz Fest to see: The Red Stick Ramblers Mumford & Sons (YESSS!) The Avett Brothers
  18. Finally just saw the remake of "I Spit On Your Grave." Neither one was good. I need to quit watching banned cult films. Unless it's Cannibal Holocaust.
  19. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Apr 22 2010, 08:27 PM) This is the only song that puts me in the mood! Next time... next time... The last guy I was with wouldn't put on songs, he put on movies or TV shows. So, there were times during Ghosthunters and The Quick and the Dead. Bummer it didn't last.
  20. You know I'm so happy for you and wish you all of the best concerning your surgery. I hope you have a swift recovery and that the surgery is successful with controlling or stopping the seizures. Keep us posted!
  21. Ended it with a guy I've been seeing. It was positive because it wasn't going anywhere and we are able to remain friends, but still... I felt used. That sucked. Oh well. Maybe one day I'll meet a guy who respects me.
  22. I sold my soul to the Devil, hence why I am wealthy. But seriously, I sold my soul to the Man. And I have an editor. And sometimes I work horse shows. And other days I give violin lessons. I have work ADHD.
