What gets me other than the bad production is the juvenile lyrics. They don't sound like someone who is been writing lyrics for 40 years.
They do to me.

:P

So someone who's been writing lyrics for 40 years should be writing juvenile lyrics?

Well the thing is I don't think they sound juvenile. Especially The Garden and Headlong Flight. They really all seem darn awesome to me.

You know what they say "once a man, twice a boy"

Never heard that saying but I get what you mean. There's writing about boyish things and interests, and then there's amateurish. These strike me as amateurish.

EDIT:  Very similar to the book, which sounds like a 16-year-old wrote it for a high school essay.

Metal...this album is metal. The balls of this album are enough fill Lake Ontario

I enjoy many of the songs, buy some are brickwalled, especially by the keys. What should be a nice background texture blocks the  sound. Someone please ping me Broon's number, we need to start that remix ASAP. I could cite the songs but need a listen to refresh my memory, and I'm out of Advil. Glad retirement is near.

I just don't get it. Well, four fans on a forum dissing their latest profound work isn't all that bad. I can't wait for CA 2

If you look at the older threads about the album there were a lot more than four people dissing it. I guess the same way you can't understand why I don't like it or why the people here don't like it, I'm sure we can't understand why you do.

Let's close the poll...Bu2B2 will win, and nothing is really deserving off this album.  There's only one other song on this album that I don't actively seek out, and that's 7CoG...and that's almost completely because of the singing.

Power Windows was a few days ago.  This is friggin muscular rock.  Pussies need not apply, and can bask in synths if they want to.

Man, when i listen to the album my jaw drops at the fact that every song kicks ass, and that's what I've wanted from Rush--ass kicking, slamming tunes. I got that with this album. You guys want the same old same old. Well, funk that. This is not Rush of 40 years ago--thank you

I don't think it's a matter of wanting the Rush of 40 years ago but more a matter of wanting good songwriting and album production. That never changes, no matter what decade it is.

I live with the annoying synth fans every day.  You can deal with CA fans once every 3 years.  But I forgot, you're scared of guitars and rock and roll, so CA and its fans must scare the bejesus out of you.

Download a CA vinyl rip, they are incredibly easy to find. It's like listening to a different album.
