Friday night- Denny's - I had the avocado grilled chicken sandwich and it was yummy! Should have been good and had the healthy veggies that come with it instead of french fries, but my french fry habit is hard to break. Dan had barbecued chicken.

Saturday lunch - before getting to our hotel on our trip last weekend - A-1 Peppercorn Burger at Red Robin. Dan had the bacon cheeseburger.

Saturday dinner - Betty's American Diner at Mt. Airy Casino before the Fixx show - I had a fancy wonton soup with shrimp and Chinese noodles; Dan had a club sandwich.

Sunday - hotel breakfast - pancakes, cinnamon roll, yogurt, eggs and cheese, sausage and ham.

Sunday late lunch after getting home - Arby's roast beef meal w/ regular fries.

I had Arby's Saturday night after the movie.

But last night my niece - who has been visiting for the past month - took us out to dinner. We went to a Chinese buffet but a good one: clams, oysters, sushi, shrimp, the usual Chinese and, to top it off, malasadas! These are Portuguese fritter-like buns rolled in cinnamon-sugar. OMG are they good! Usually only get them in Hawai'i but I've noticed them showing up at buffets more and more. If you've never had one, seek them out! drool1.gif

You too? Bummer. I understand your frustration, because as you can tell by my posts, I have a nearly uncontrollable urge to put food in my mouth (constantly). I'm damn lucky it hasn't caught up with me any worse than it has.

Yet.

Here's to restraining ourselves!

State Fair Edition...

Went out there Friday night, Sunday, and last night. Over the course of those three days, I've had a Greek chicken wrap, a gyro, baked potato, ice cream, bratwurst with red cabbage and German potato salad, and fried dough. Still need to get my apple dumpling in next Monday.

Also had veggie & pepperoni pizza with my boyfriend's astronomy club Saturday...

Friday night we went to the mall for the first time in ages because Dan wanted to look for trail maps at EMS. We had dinner at Ruby Tuesday's...salad bar, Mediterranean shrimp pasta for me, and New Orleans seafood for Dan. It didn't look like a whole lot of food when it came, but we both walked out full. Found lots of Rush albums at Best Buy, too new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Back to Denny's on Friday. They have a cheesy menu for fall; I had the cheesy breakfast sampler with cheese smoked sausage, cheese topped hash browns and eggs, and toast. Dan got his usual club sandwich. The sausage was a little drier than I thought it would be, but it was generally good.

Went to Applebees and used the last of my gift cards from last Christmas. Dan was trying to order something different than what he thought I would get, and I ended up ordering the same thing - Smokehouse Chicken Stack with ham, cheese, and bacon.gif on top. Corn cakes underneath and some spicy creamed corn on the side. The spice did my stuffy nose some good, temporarily!

Went to the Chinese buffet last night...I had a little of everything. The night was ruined by the staff stealing my Rush hoodie, though, and we won't ever go back. I think I'll put the story in the "pissed me off" thread in Random Samples for those who care to read.

Well, Julie's Diner has started being open on Friday nights for the winter, but this year, they're only open until 7, not 8, so by the time we got there, they were closed. We went to Sorrento's, a fairly new Italian place across the way, and had fried haddock...good, but it (and the fries) had a bit of a funny flavor like the oil wasn't the freshest. Don't know if it was just me, though...I haven't been sick or anything. It also took forever...I think we were there for two hours!
