It'll be good to see ya again Spikey! I'm actually taking Metro North down from Fairfield, so if you want that to be your stop.. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/bekloppt.gif

What is parking like in Fairfield? Availability & cost? If parking is easier/cheaper than New Haven or Milford, an extra 30 min. in the car might not be bad.

Parking is free at the Fairfield train station on weekends. Availability is typically okay on weekends.

I'm also taking the train from Fairfield. It would be cool to meet up with fellow fans for the trip to NYC.

I agree. I should point out that aside from catching a taxi into Manhattan (assuming that's where you're staying), NJ Transit has a rail link from the airport to the rail line that runs into midtown Manhattan.

You can find info at the NJ Transit website: NJ Transit Website

if those are your options, then i agree with the others that Newark is a bit better.

i would chose LaGuardia, however, if it is available to you. beats both Newark and JFK in my opinion.

Yeah the parking is very easy to get to and free on weekends as Yefa said. I'd prefer Fairfield over New Haven mainly because it's not as congested and it's in a decent area (in case you're worried about your car).

Just checked into an ad I saw on Craigslist, and wanted to make sure no one got scammed by this guy...it was for (4) 4th row tickets for the MSG show, to make an offer. So I emailed the guy and he got back to me with this email:

QUOTE
$150 each
My name is Rob. I still have RUSH tickets. I would like to offer the following payment options to you for these tickets because I am not in the city. Me and my wife and kids are unable to make it due to work schedules.

http://www.westernunion.com/
just click on locate agent and go Directly into an outlet like a moneymart ect...
or
http://www.moneygram.com
these are often located in Postal outlets or you can click on there site to find something close to you.

These would be the best payment options that I can ask for, I cant accept PayPal because its been an issue with my credit union for payments. my info is below you will need that

Rob Cook
239 14th St W 320
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
S6V 3L4
Canada

I will be using FedEx overnight express to send you the tickets, there is no extra charge for this I will also send you a valid tracking confirmation once you have sent the payment to me, I guarantee you will get these tickets within 24-48 hours of payment because I use the express service for FedEx from my company account. I hate scalpers so this is why I have made payment as stated above like this. I hope this is not an issue, If you need any more info please contact me asap.

Thanks
Rob

I checked into it, because working at the Service Desk at Walmart we're trained to catch Money Gram Scams - and this raised about 4red flags with me. One, it's cross-border (except for the most "rabid" Rush fan, why would someone from Saskatchewan have tickets to a New York show when there are dates far closer to him); Two, he will only accept a wire transfer; Three, he won't send out the tickets until he has payment (which is precautionary for most people selling tickets, on top of the other two things, it's not safe); and Fourth, his email even sounds sketchy: rockstarshows@hotmail.com.

So I looked at ScamChecker.com, and found this: Robert Cook Ticket Scam

So, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up so no one gets duped by this guy.

Hi all,

Just looking for a little info. Im coming all the way from Bonnie Scotland for the show at MSG. Flights and hotel are booked, just got a couple of decent tickets to get. Are there any ticket outlets better than the others? Prices seem to be very high for this show. My friends and i were over in September and caught both the Boston and Washington shows, buying tickets for around the $150 mark. Whats the back 4 sections of the floor like for seeing the stage? They seem to be on a slight gradient.

Anyway, its http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/2.gif so what the hell, it'll be awsome.

Am i right in saying the meet ups gonna be in a place called Stout?

We're staying at the New Yorker on 8th, so not too far eh?

Taking my little sister to NYC for her 40th birthday, but managed to include the MSG show in the agenda....Much to her delight...haha!

Look forward to meeting up and the show of course.

Thanks for any info

Bob.

Hi Bob,

The back sections on the floor at MSG are on an incline so that you can see over the heads of people in the sections that are closer to the stage. As for ticket outlets, Ticketmaster / Live Nation are the main ticket vendors for this show. There were a bunch of presales, but they've all closed. Tickets can be purchased through ticket brokers (scalpers). But, you'll likely be paying more than face value. I've used StubHub in the past, without any problems.

I'd suggest trying Ticketmaster first.

As for the planned meetup, it looks like Stout will be the place. It's very close to the venue, and is a pretty large place. For the meetup we had back in 2007, we pretty much had a room to ourselves downstairs. Stay tuned to this thread for any changes in plans.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here. We'll try to answer as best we can.

Looking forward to seeing you at Stout!

Natch,

Thanks for the info mate.

I'll try ticketmaster etc, but still unsure about what section to go for.

I like to be in amongst it a bit, but do appreciate just soaking up the spectacle. Guess i'll just get the best tickets the budget will allow and keep my fingers crossed.

Gonna be wearing my kilt too, so dont want to be too high up...lol.

Thanks again Natch

Bob,

Most seats at MSG are pretty good. Obviously, the closer you get to the stage the better. I've been to many many shows there, and think you'll find that the experience will be one you'll never forget, no matter where you sit.

Hope you find good seats at a good price!

Natch,

Thanks again mate. Gonna have a good trawl through the various outlets before i commit to buying. Got a bit of spare time just now, so might as well put it to good use.

September at the Jiffy Lube in Washington was pretty special. Met up with some lovely people for the tail gate prior to the show....Magical.

Really looking forward to MSG though....Word has it, its a bit special.

Cant wait, not sure if little sis feels the same though....Sure when the time comes she'll be right up for it. And she gets to see me in the kilt, which i'm sure will keep her in good spirits.

Oh, talking of spirits....Is there beer etc for sale within the venue?

I got this one Natch!

HI Bob- http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/bekloppt.gif

It is special...it is. I cant explain it, and come to think of it, I wouldnt if I could. But I expect you will not be disappointed in your experience.

Yes, there is beer for sure...I know cause I got a little buzz in 2007 when I saw them there...which is unusual for me to do at a RUSH show. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

And, um, kilt you say? See you at Stout! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif
