_pete_
I dunno. He hits a few wrong notes in the solo and that's a pretty easy one.

His tone sounds good too although it's hard to tell for sure from a YouTube video. I was just saying that if he owned it, he'd play it perfect. Cowtothesky
I really like his solo sound. I thought he did a good job overall. A few rhythmic mistakes. Solo didn't reflect the feeling and emotion that Alex portrays. Some of Alex's style to me is an overexageration of emotion. And I mean that in a completely respectful way to Alex Lifeson. But, it reminds me of William Shatner's acting. It's cool because he overportrays the moment. I love that about Alex. It's not his technical ability - there are much better players that can play more technical stuff. - It is his subtle over-reaction in his emotional style. (I hope that makes sense)

Uh, I believe I said he "pwned it" not "owned it"...Ok, ok, I'm getting out of hand here!!! I know what you meant, and you are right. I think I was so jacked up that he did "No One at the Bridge" I just got carried away!

I really like that solo, and it was probably his best one to date, but I do think others have eclipsed it.

I'd say even the solo on the outro of The Necromancer is cooler and as soon as A Farewell To Kings hit Xanadu stole the title anyway.

Sure, it's not the most technically challenging solo he's done - far from it. But as familiar as I am with Rush's entire catalogue, I can't think of another solo that's so emotive.
