  1. I stumbled upon a Vinyl record in Portland, OR a couple years ago entitled "Everything Your Listeners Wanted To Hear By Rush But You Were Too Afraid To Play". From what I've gathered I know it's relatively rare as it's the only Rush vinyl that wasn't made for sale and is not listed in their discography in any form. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everything_Your_Listeners_Ever_Wanted_to_Hear_by_Rush..._But_You_Were_Afraid_to_Play My question is, how do I go about finding how much it's really worth? Where do I begin or does anyone around here know themselves!? Thanks!

  16. QUOTE (Gompers @ Apr 21 2008, 05:15 AM) In watching the other song by song poll of these two albums, I needed to revisit this thread. Personally, S&A is probably one of Rush's most versatile, well-rounded, and mixed albums. Their ability as song writers comes through better than most of their releases. I think they paid more attention to the texture of each song than with the previous release. I find VT to be difficult to listen to in one sitting. I have listened to what the boys do and they certainly do it well, but VT leaves me feeling empty. Many songs sound similar to the previous one sonicly. That being said, VT has individually strong songs but collectively the album is far from one of Rush's best while I find S&A to be one of their best. well said.....
  17. Well my favorite really requires a video. But if u have seen the "road to Europe Episode"... Brian:Stewie this show is stupid Stewie:Hey!(turns head quickly)(pause)shut up
  18. QUOTE (The Dali @ Dec 27 2007, 12:37 PM) This may have been discussed previously, but since I'm a newbie and didn't find it in the search records I thought I'd throw it out there... Any Rush fans like Coheed and Cambria? I just got into them about 2 months ago (I was watching some music channel and their recent song The Running Free came on and I was hooked)... I liken them to a mixture of Rush and Iron Maiden with fewer solos. Just wondering what people think out there... later. i heard that when someone said "hey you've been compared to Rush" they replied "we've never heard rush" lol
  19. Snakes and arrows by far....i dont understand how VT can be considered better. Sure its a good album, but geddy's voice is too over produced, his voice has that same little pitch echo thing in EVERY song. +, the music just isnt as good as S&A. I just dont understand it.

    Fear

QUOTE (Weakly Criminal @ Feb 6 2008, 07:03 PM) QUOTE (Retrospective @ Dec 25 2006, 01:57 PM) QUOTE (Indica @ Dec 6 2005, 01:31 AM) So the triology of fear has 4 parts so I guess it's not called the trilogy of fear anymore because it should be called Quadilogy or something like that lol. I think Neil just used that term as a joke. He used it again too: another trilogy was the Gangster of Boats trilogy which consisted of Where's My Thing? (Roll the Bones, 1991) and Leave That Thing Alone (Counterparts, 1993). I always thought that Limbo was part of that 'trilogy'. Sure seems to have some aquatic sounds don't you think? Where else would GOB come from? The fact that it would be the third, of four supposed parts, with the first the one named GOB's just makes it all the funnier. Just Lerxt having us on for taking it all so seriously IMO. i didnt know leave that thing is in gangster.....where does it show this info?

    Fear

The Enemy Within is 10x better live and The Weapon is 3x better live.. Purchase Rush Replay it has a dvd of ESL(with different songs) A Grace under pressure live dvd/cd(this one ownz) A show of hands dvd, with a few different songs the Grace under pressure cd/dvd has the enemy within-the weapon-Witch Hunt in that order(all of fear to that date in order) and its really really good. i strongly recommend getting this dvd package \
  22. QUOTE (PlanetJeff @ Dec 30 2007, 03:08 AM) There ok, Claudio has quite the range in his singing but he does sound too whiny imo. The guitarists are good but I think they get a little too repetitive with the riffs and sometimes too cheesy, and I don't think c&c sounds too similar too Rush, I think it's just because both singers have a wide range in the vocals even though they don't sound too similar. Maybe people compare them because they both make epic sci-fi themed prog rock, but still, Rush has an older rock sound and c&c has a more modern rock sound. I still enjoy them though, they even used to be my favorite band. and they both have white alpine doublenecks!
