treeduck Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 That's an utterly laughable statement in my estimation. Their writing and vocals have grown substantially. Funny how one person's version of "going commercial" (LOL) is another's version of evolution. These guys continue to improve on just about every level. That said I really dig their first two albums. But I don't look at a band discovering harmony and melody as a sign of softening or weakening or selling out. How ludicrous. I'd much rather have more than purely growling tuneless vocals, but then again I have never liked that approach. Give this album a spin, kids. One of the year's very best.I disagree, this band';s music hurts my soul!! My very soul! And you want me to listen to this band as it crushes the life out of me??? What kind of man are you?? :madra: So, just to be clear, you dont like it?Correct! :hail:
adace1 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Awesome album. My favorite track is Chlorine and Wine. Overall I think it's their best effort yet.
Rod in Toronto Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Just checked them out for the very first time - Purple is great! Vocals are strange, but quite good! I don´t mind that the sound is slightly commercial (at least on this album -I have yet to check out their other releases). What do you guys recommend next?
geezer Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Never listened to their EPs at the very beginning but Red Album and Blue Record are their best works IMHO 2
Stormtron Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Each new album is better than the last to me. Great band, I've dug their evolution.
Union 5-3992 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Purple is still a real fun record, it sounds fresh each time I hear it. It definitely sits well with Red & Blue 1

Yellow And Green...a modern masterpiece and my favorite of theirs. Epic. Edited February 19, 2016 by Presto-digitation 2
Rod in Toronto Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 March to the Sea is awesome! This is my tupe of band: killer hooks and melodies, played with distortion! 2
Rod in Toronto Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 The groove in the intro is killer!!!! 2
Presto-digitation Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 That whole freakin' album -- to me -- is killer. I just love the entire vibe. It's not every Red and Blue fan's cup of tea, but it's a brilliant balance in my opinion. Some people called Y&G soft...them selling out. Meh. Feck that. Great, great record. Fantastic listen continuously from start to finish. 1
