  1. 1. Which is best?

La Villa Strangiato is in a class all by itself. Alex never surpassed himself on Hemispheres.

110% agree.

I agree with your agreement!

Your agreement to my agreement agrees with me agreeably.

Splendid! Smashing!

Furthermore, I concur with your degree of agreeability.

You never sounded so English!

Spiffing, old chum!

I'm dead chuffed with your assessment of my syntax! Jolly good, chap!

You out englished me...

Fancy a crumpet?

:P

I don't know if I can have any crumpets without tea...and I know how you feel about tea...so, ummm...how about a cheeseburger?

Thank goodness...

With Tabasco and jalapeños... And the cheese needs to wrap both sides of the meet...and I want crispy sweetcure bacon...

I am  over here...

To paraphrase the biggest song by a band who's sold more records but is nowhere near as talented as Rush.

Maybe I'll come back maybe next week, cause CA is on a losing streak.

When would you like us to send you a Time To Vote For CA notice in the mail?

When is the synth era coming up?

Right about then

Well, there is an argument as to just when that era started. Kind of like what decade Permanent Waves really belongs to. That kind of thing. You know. :)

So, you are going to have to give me an album name.

There is no argument on the latter-- PeW is a 70s album. You have a good point on the former question though--I say PoW, but I suppose a case could be made for Signals.

Someone said there weren't any guitars to be heard on Signals, but I beg to differ about that.

Absolutely...the guitar features prominently on The Analog Kid, Digital Man, The Weapon (cue  ), New World Man, and Countdown.

They were definitely in the midst of an evolution, but the guitar was definitely still there.

I talked to a guy at my job today who said he was planning on smoking some brisket this weekend.

I sort of wanted to go home with him.

PeW is THE 70's album for this band.

It is just ridiculously, disgustingly fantastic, yes!

Don't you remember the thread about which decade PeW belonged to?

Between AFTK and Hemispheres, the two parts of Cygnus X-1 are possibly the best things Rush has ever released. I so love those songs, and try to listen to them together whenever possible.

I voted "Hemispheres"...just so amazing.

That album has been a part of my life for 37 years now.

I cannot even count how many times I've listened to it.

Never have grown tired of it.

"Clockwork Angels" has been a part of my life for 3 years.

I was instantly blown away by it and I still am to this day.

Both epic in their own ways.

"Hemispheres" is the quintessential Rush album and has stood the test of time like very few in my music collection.

"Clockwork Angels" is Rush at a later career peak.

Just amazing to me watching/listening to them deliver "the goods" after being in the game so long.

That, my Rush brothers and sisters, is the magic of our little rock and roll band.

Welcome back indeed, Narps. :)

"Good grief"...haha...that's about what I thought you'd say about the one (and the one just previous to this, too, but I haven't looked at that yet).

CA doesn't get "better" than anything until after HYF at least for me. Presto may be better too because of the ease on the ears and I don't care what is said about the "thin" production. It has as many good songs (about 6) and I must prefer it because it is a pleasure to listen to sonically...

We are in the midst of a run of Rush albums, in these polls, where I can't vote for CA over them...(but there are only about five or six in the whole catalog like that).
