Interesting stuff! I was hoping for a "3113" album. But who knows right? Time will tell.

I "Hope" you are right.

Signed,

Alex Lifeson

This is really happening if you havent heard:

As most fans know, RushCon 14 took place over the weekend in Toronto. One of the special guests during the convention was Kevin J. Anderson, co-author of the novelization of Clockwork Angels. Kevin made two exciting announcements during his presentation at RushCon.

His first announcement centers around an anthology of Rush-based stories:

For those of you NOT lucky enough to be at Rushcon, I made an announcement this afternoon about an anthology of Rush-based stories I'll be coediting with John McFetridge for ECW (publishers of Clockwork Angels). We have a gang of award-winning and bestselling authors already lined up to contribute stories based on Rush songs.
And I'll be doing a novella called "2113".

His second announcement was that he and Neil Peart are writing somewhat of a sequel to the Clockwork Angels novel titled Clockwork Lives. You can watch the announcement via the video embedded below or directly at this LINK.

WOW! Well Savage haven't been in the Rush loop for some time as you can tell.

Thank you for sharing that information with me.

Sounds pretty cool. So it is true. Rush will never retire! LOL

I hope they ditch the orchestra though on their next upcoming tour for "Clockwork Lives."

Then again it would be cool to see Rush perform "2112" and "2113" back to back.

Cheers!

Rush is turning into a series of bad fiction.

Hahahaha! It is sad. To be honest I'm over the "Clockwork" stuff but "2113" interests me!

If the band tours with that awful orchestra again then I might be done.

The strings kicked a** :haz:

its hard to accept the fact that there is nobody to replace any of the 60's,70's,80's bands. there are a few newer bands that aren't bad but nothing like the older guys. it's coming sooner than later that there will be no concerts worth going to. it will all be crap.

I hate to say it, but I kinda agree. I still like new music a shitload, but there's no modern band out there that comes to town and excites me the way rush or maiden or others do

Yep. I contend it is because the album is dead. Two reasons. One, the record companies don't give a s*** about album sales, It's all about singles and downloads. Two, the internet changed the delivery format.

Albums gave bands the ability to explore, create, and evolve. They don't have that luxury anymore. It's all about creating hits. From here on out, it's gonna be a bad ride...

I dug the strings. Especially because they were used appropriately. They didn't overdo it and change everything around to fit them in. They found a place.

I met one of the stringers recently and he was very, very cool. Hell of a player, too. I wouldn't mind seeing them return.
