I didn't include Permanent Waves but if you really want to count that one, then the whole album could be sung by him, no problem. And I support the performance of the whole album! :D

He could sing any and all the 70's material if he would just sing in a lower register and as long as the music was spot on who gives a shit if the vocals were not in a high register   Imagine them say

My computer skills have limitations unfortunately. What I can do, I do pretty well but there are so many things I have yet to figure out....... :fuckinputer:

I dislike Closer To The Heart because that is the song that the djs in NYC chose to highlight on the FM stations when AFTK came out. Now, I ask you, would you have chosen that song off of an album like that? And why did they? Because it is one of those catchy tunes except it didn't catch me and it is on account of this that I never bought the album and missed out on going to see them in concert at that time. I thought that the other songs on the album were probably along the same lines as CTTH, so why bother? When the reality is that CTTH was the oddball song on an otherwise glorious album. When I think about it, I really get mad. :rage:

 

My music taste hasn't changed since I was young, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would have been in ecstasy over Xanadu back then which would have forever sealed me with Rush. Instead, it wasn't until Tom Sawyer that I even gave Rush any serious consideration. By that time, I was already tired of going to concerts and didn't go to very many in the eighties.

 

That's why I don't like Closer To The Heart.

That's a little sad. Shouldn't blame the song because the stupid DJs decided they had to have a little short song to play on the radio. I understand why they didn't play Xanadu. I never heard it until someone played the album for me.

This one is on the border line of 70's/80's but Jacob's Ladder is an easy vocal in comparison and would be a real crowd pleaser.

 

By-Tor isn't too bad, he could pull that off for sure.

 

I didn't include Permanent Waves but if you really want to count that one, then the whole album could be sung by him, no problem. And I support the performance of the whole album! :D

Uh, Xanadu is off of AFTK, not Permanent Waves... but I agree it should be done in full! Actually I want an extended intro. Let Lerxst go off for a little bit.

He really only struggles with a couple parts on TS. And even though he struggles with TSOR, I still really enjoy the way he sings it for some reason haha. Especially the signature "Oh Yeeeeaaaahhhh!" Edited by Geddy's Soul Patch

I'm sure he does. Plus I'm sure there are songs that they don't really want to sing anymore or ones that they think wouldn't do well live. It's got to be a bit depressing for him not to be able to sing like he used to. Plus I'm sure they're aware that the fans would love to hear the older stuff if he could do it.

Imagine them saying we were going to play hemispheres with the vocals a little lower pitched but the music would still be kick ass and exact but too many fans would complain about the vocals not sounding like they used to so we are just going play roll the bones instead because they can do the vocals justice

 

It's about the music to me

He can tone down the vocals to conserve his voice

You might be surprised and it might sound kick ass

 

I guess I just don't care cuz I want the 70's stuff played before they are done regardless if the vocals are spot on

 

It's what's missing from all their live releases

 

They have to break out rare stuff to play and capture

They're running out of tours

 

They did a great job covering the 80's on the CA tour

Now it's the 70's turn
