Goodbye, Faith Hill. Hello, Carrie Underwood.

She may have married into professional hockey, but the Grammy-winning American Idol champion will sing Waiting All Day for Sunday Night, the opening theme for NBC's Sunday Night Football, this season. She'll make her Sunday Night Football debut on Sept. 8, when the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants.

"I am thrilled to be a part of NBC's Sunday Night Football and am so honored they asked me," Underwood said in a press release. "I have always loved football season, and it is so exciting to now become part of it every Sunday night!"

Faith Hill is a pro. She understands that the NFL is for big girls. Broadcasting teams have to make hard decisions when it comes to releasing their veteran players in favor of youth. Hill may have lost a step, but she'll bring much experience and leadership to whichever team she signs with.....

Continuing a long tradition of picking up players with long time associations with division rivals who are no longer needed by those franchises, Brian Urlacher is considering continuing his career with the Vikings.

It's too damn early for football .

For you apparently, but then it's always too early for the Bengals, for the Bengals it's always "well there's always next year..." :nya nya:

Listen ...I'll have you know we've been to the playoffs 3 outta the last 4 years now.

Of course we haven't gone any further but hey baby steps. :yay:

Urlacher retires

NFL moves draft to May - I think the only reason for that is to see how much it can mess up the NHL and NBA playoffs.

Urlacher was almost retired much earlier in his career. Ever hear about the time he challenged Bas Rutten to a fight in a bar?
