Phil is still great, no doubt. But I have to admit I'm enjoying DSO just as much if not more. They're fantastic...

On another note - are you going to catch Gov't Mule at the Fillmore in Nov?  I'll be at that show, cant wait.

Not planning on it. Going to see the Mule in Richmond in October and then the 2 night Philly run in late December.

I do love me some DSO also. John Kadlecik is SO good in the Jerry roll. It was a shame he left for Furthur. I have no complaints about Jeff Mattson, but I preferred John. I really dig watching the energy of Rob Barraco. He looks like he is having the time of his life EVERY show. I think I've been to about 10 of their shows. I used to be on the same Grateful Dead message board as Rob Eaton back in the Compuserve days. I got many live Dead shows on tape trees that he started.

I may try to make it to one of the DSO shows at the 9:30 club on 11/30 or 12/1.

Eric Carr. Not that Eric Singer isn't a good drummer. But, Carr's bombastic drum sound was fantastic. Even if the return of the make-up couldn't have been avoided, it could've been a return to the Elder/ (almost) Creatures line-up. Plus, Psycho Circus and Sonic Boom could've been helped immensely by his energy.
