Dokken like? Are you being serious?.. my mistake not dokken like but lynch mob. same guitarist though. anarchist reminded me a little of tangled in the web. pick it up at 40 secs if you want to know what i'm talking about with the guitar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcEQ7knEUA4&feature=related
Gilbertk
The guitar in Halo Effect sounds like the chorus in "The Way the Wind Blows" and a little of "Everyday GLory"

1 of the 7
My first impressions... Caravan - already familiar BU2B - Ooo, the new into is cinematically foreboding, and a little Indian (India) sounding. CA - love the synth. Laugh if you want, but it reminds me a little of the intro to Savage Garden's Fly Me To The Moon and Back. Obviously, it's going to go somewhere a lot more rocking Anarchist - killer bass and drums here Carnies - reminiscent of Brighton Rock by Queen Halo Effect - So 2112-ish that I could swear part of it was lifted from that song! Then an acoustic-y feel like S & A Seven Cities - FUNKY! Can't wait to see where they go with this. Wreckers - sort of Armor & Sword-ish HLF - already familiar BU2B2 - wow, more cinematic foreboding-ness a la the new into to BU2B! Makes my hair stand up on end! Wish Them Well - standard rock for what I thought could be one of the heaviest topics of this album. The Garden - another where I can't wait to hear where it's going. To sum up, I love how this album pulls from other Rush songs old, recent, and even within this same album, has moments that remind me of other favorite bands, yet sounds compltely fresh for both Rush and music in general. A definite sense of being on edge waiting to find out where the story is going (and what Geddy's vocals are going to sound like, since we only get a smidge of them here, and they're always a highlight for me)! Rush-O-Matic
The 30 second clips have been removed from Walmart.com And, THIS ALBUM KICKS ALL KINDS OF ASS! Damn. There are certainly some songs that are stronger than others on this album, but I haven't been skipping songs like I usually do on their last few (8?) releases.
