Kelly D Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 QUOTE (Zanadoo @ May 30 2012, 01:03 PM) Checking in. Section 107! If anyone up front is looking for a view from farther back, I'd be happy to trade. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/rofl3.gif
circumstantial tree Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Looking forward to the show that night. If there are fans here who want to meet up at Murphy's Taproom for the Rush fan get together, there may still be room. According to Stephanie, the organizer, there will all kinds of munchies, a viewing screen for watching Rush videos, and generally hangin' out. I think right now, the price per person to go to this is $25.00 NOT INCLUDING beverages.
Snaked Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I doubt I'll be attending any of the pre-show activities since I'll be travelling all day thursday to get to NYC for the Flying Colors show and then catching a train at 2:40am to Boston. By the time I hit Manchester at 11:45am all I'll want to do is take a nap in my hotel.. heh!
Kelly D Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Anyone who knows me knows that a few Rats and I NEVER eat or drink anything besides water before a concert- I could probably just stop buy the Taproom and meet people like I did at Stout last year, but no way am I paying $25. It will be awesome to meet some of you in person, wherever you end up!

Yeah, usually when it's at an outdoor venue, I just lurk around, talk to people, listen to sound check, talk to MORE people, get inside - barely eat or drink anything from pure excitement of the show and then let the evening roll on out. For a indoor venue, not sure but I don't want to pay a party fee http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/no.gif

circumstantial tree Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 It's hard to gauge but I know that the gathering at Murphy's is in a private room that is reserved for functions.
Snaked Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Just booked my flights! Southwest is having a really decent sale right now and I was able to get the airfare portion of my trip basically cut in half. $157 to fly to NYC then back home after the Manchester show. Yeah.. I know.. that doesn't make sense! Flying to NYC on 9/6 to see Flying Colors Train from NYC to Manchester ($63) Then Flying home from Manchester I'm so glad I don't have to spend countless hours in a rental car doing all that driving around. So the actual travel portion of the trip comes out to $220. Now I just need Priceline to stop being cranky and give me the hotel I want and I'll be set. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/2.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/2.gif
circumstantial tree Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 A lot of folks are staying in fairly close hotels, but I heard it may be booked.
Kelly D Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 All I know is that it's gonna be a show like Cleveland all over again! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif
circumstantial tree Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I'm really looking forward to this. I remember going the VT opening show in Hartford. We'll be the first fans to know what they'll be playing. Then we can brag to everybody, blahahahaha!!!!!
Deckiller Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Jun 12 2012, 07:27 PM) I'm really looking forward to this. I remember going the VT opening show in Hartford. We'll be the first fans to know what they'll be playing. Then we can brag to everybody, blahahahaha!!!!! Absolutely. There are five major reasons why I'm going to opening night. (1) It's nearby! (2) No setlist spoilers! Everything is a surprise! (3) Geddy's voice will be well rested! (4) Shorter wait! (5) The crowd will be wild!
iluvgeddy05 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 This will be my first opening night and I'm giddy http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wub.gif
circumstantial tree Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 In other words, giddy for Geddy? http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Snaked Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Jun 14 2012, 09:35 AM) This will be my first opening night and I'm giddy http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wub.gif Opening nights are always exciting. We'll be the first ones to see the entire stage setup.. the opening videos.. all that good schtuff. I cannot wait for my little east coast trip. Flying Colors in NYC and then RUSH in MHT. Gonna be a GREAT little weekend http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif
circumstantial tree Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 and of course, we can ruin everyone's day by giving the setlist to everybody when they aren't looking. Blahahahahahaha!!!!!!! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif
1 of the 7 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Jun 14 2012, 09:35 AM) This will be my first opening night and I'm giddy http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wub.gif Me too! I'm looking forward to so many "firsts" on this tour - first opening night, first show in their hometown and first RushCon (Toronto), first show with very decent seats (third row Pittsburgh), first tailgate (Bristow)...I can't wait! We're staying in the Holiday Inn Express about three miles from the venue in Manchester...anyone else?
iluvgeddy05 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I don't have hotel booked yet. Wanted to stay with my sister but I don't think that will happen. Depends on who I carpool with and other plans. If anything, I can get a place to stay an hour or so from the venue so it's not too packed. Also waiting for my bonus from work to tell me where I will be staying http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/unsure.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Super 8 or 4 Seasons http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/rofl3.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/eyesre4.gif
circumstantial tree Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 you may want to call, because I've heard that hotels are booking fast. At least check to see if rooms are available even if you don't know where you are staying yet.
pony2112 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 This a small arena, I'm shocked at how many seats remain for opening night.
sitboaf Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I'm a 10 or 15 minute WALK from the venue. This will be my second Rush show (Time Machine Tour, Boston, 2010) and I'm so proud that my city is hosting the opening night of the tour! I made a concert re-creation CD for my wife for the show in Boston, since she was a new fan and knew only their hits. I was nervous about the secret playlist for Clockwork Angels Tour, but we've been listening to the album since it came out, so I can't imagine she'll be unfamiliar with more than a couple songs. Plane tickets = $0 Hotel = $0 Rental Car = $0 Gas = $0 Rush tickets = priceless
Yefa Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I've decided that I want to attend this show. I've never seen http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/2.gif on opening night and don't want to have to avoid setlist spoilers all the way until the Bridgeport show. Now I just have to decide whether to buy a relatively cheap ticket on TM now or wait and try to get a really good ticket there in the last few days before the show.
