My first post here, and it's a request, but I figured it can't hurt to ask. I'm in ulster county in NY (Kingston area) and was wondering if anyone is going to the show on Friday passing by here (exit 19 on the NY state thruway), and if I'd be able to ride there and back with you?
My last Rush show was in 2007 in Saratoga, NY back when I had a house, car, wife, etc, all of which I lost in a very harsh way in 2009 and I've been struggling to rebuild my life ever since, with not much luck so far.
If anyone here thinks it's a possibility, I can give you my phone number if you'd want to talk to me first. I'm just a regular guy, no criminal record or anything crazy like that! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/bekloppt.gif

Wish I could help. You being a stranger doesn't faze me, it's just that I have a few crazy circumstances that combine for a "no" -

1. I'm starting my trip from Albany, which doesn't pass you.

2. We're leaving early on Friday, to spend the afternoon before the show at Funspot in New Hampshire, the world's largest arcade. (They have all the classic 80s videogames I grew up with!)

3. After the show, I'm crashing at my brother's house near the NH/VT border.

Whereabout? I have a feeling you'll be within about 20 mins of me...assuming you're not taking a very scenic route back to Albany. Just curious, as I don't run into too many fans in these parts (though it may be a mistake to assume your brother is also a fan).

My brother LIKES Rush, but isn't a big fan. He's seen them once, on the Counterparts tour, brought along as another person's guest.

He's now in Hartland, VT. (Formerly in West Lebanon, NH.) A bit north of my Albany-Manchester route, but hey, it's free lodging.

Wouldn't have been my first guess (and definitely not the direct route), but not that far out of your way, I guess. It's only about 45 min-1 hr out of your way. Could be worse. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

That arcade sounds awesome, I was the king of ms. pac man in 1982 at the pinball palace in Woodstock, NY. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/653.gif

Thanks for the thought anyway though, 2 more days to go, maybe I'll still get lucky.

I woke up about 1.5 hours before my alarm went off.
THAT is how excited I am!

Just a few final preps for the trip and then I will be...

ON MY WAY AT LAST!

"Hellooooooooooo Manchester!"

I couldn't sleep at all on "Counterparts" tour. But it was a long time ago. I will sleep like a baby for the present tour. The level of excitement is going down over the years, for that kind of things, at least.

Ticketmaster released some great side seats!! Get 'em while they are hot.

I randomly checked Ticketbastard a few days ago and managed to get row K, section 119, first section off the floor, Geddy side.

It was nice to not have to pay a scalper extra money to get good seats.

I seriously cannot wait for this show. I took a vacation day so I could get the kids from school, get the wife from the office, and get all of us up to Manch in plenty of time.

I am actually giddy.

If you get to the show, I'll be the really really ridiculously tall red head with the huge smile on his face.

Tomorrow! Now I'm wondering what am I going to wear? Old shirt, new shirt? I don't know! Rush socks, okay. Red shoes (the red shoes of the solar federation) okay. Pins? So many decisions!
