Progressive is too broad and Rush were way too loud in the 70's to not be labeled anything but Metal. In hind-sight it's much easier to label them as prog. Just look at their stage presence from that time. Their clothes, their hair, their double neck guitars, Geddy's screaming voice. Although I think Hard Rock would be the best term you could use for Rush today. The prog sound that was in their music didn't last long.

Like I said, there's no real right or wrong, it's how you choose to define it. Presentation-wise visually and sonically you could say they fit into metal but I'd argue that the content of the actual music was certainly not. It's very subjective, though. It's like defining "rock" music in general. there's no way to put a real definition on it or say where the boundaries are.

After seeing the Track list for CA and noticing that all 12 songs are part of the CA Concept, I don't really think so! Maybe we'll get 4 or 5 songs from it in the second set but even that may be too much! I actually think things will end up like this!

Set 1:

Clockwork Angels (Entire)

Set 2:

Also Sparch Zarathustra

Subdivision

Limelight

Manhattan Project

Mission

Tears

Losing It

The Trees

Jacobs Ladder

The Big Money

Red Sector A

Marathon

YYZ / (Drum Solo with Orchestral Horns & Percussions)

Alex's Solo/Different Strings

Xanadu (Entire)

2112/ Overture/ Finale

Encore: (No Orchestra)

Far Cry

Tom Sawyer

The Spirit of Radio
