Rewatched The Hobbit the other night, much better the 2nd time around.

I'll have to do that. I wasn't thrilled the fist time.

IMO, the parts with Radagast could have been left out. They detracted from the story and brought too much of a stupidity element to it. That rabbit sled was really over-the-top dumb. I thought for the most part the movie was good if you edited that out. Oh and cut about five minutes or more out of the goblin section.

During the second viewing I found Radagast's (the Brown, the fool...) parts not so silly except for the birdshit head and the weird rodent healing scene. The rabbit sled wasn't too bad either, I didn't grimace once. I wondered about the while "stone giants" scene but I found that they're in the book during a storm on the mountain so it's not so out of place I guess.

It's completely the other way round for me - I absolutely loved Radagast and the rabbits. Over the years, Radagast had gone a bit crazy, using witchcraft to bring that little hedgehog back to life. That's not birds*** on his head, that's more like what happens when wood becomes infected over time. He's kind of tree-like because of the amount of years he's spent in the woodlands. The "stone giants" weren't fighting but playing a game.

Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This ... is my broomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barrelled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find it in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?

Didn't you just see Lepracrap about a month ago?

No, I watched the first one, the one with Jenn in it, the Lep in Space, and the two Leps in the Hood. I hadn't seen these two. The films are pretty weak but that Lep guy cracks me up, he's worth the price of admission all on his own. I don't even care about the rest of the characters, as long as there's a couple of hot tarts in it to brighten things up what more do you need?? :smoke:

Sam Raimi been watching Tim Burton films?

I started watching The Sweeney, but it's a travesty compared to the 70's TV show. You've got Ray Winstone, who's ok, and a bunch of poser idiots and a drab cops and robbers tale. Terminated after 15 minutes.

The Conjuring(2013)

Even though it's still a critics and IMDB ratings blockbuster I still see a lot of complaints from the regular movie goers. I think this is mainly due to the fact of the excessive hype. They hyped this up to be an all out scare fest. It's not that kind of movie. Yes there are some scares but this is more of a creepy, atmospheric, get under your skin good old fashioned ghost/demon story featuring some great sets and terrific cast performances. I haven't seen one mention of anybody catching the cameo of the real life Lorraine Warren. An instant horror classic.

For those that have seen both Sinister and The Conjuring which one did you like best?

Recently bought The Sweeney.

It sucks! All these tarty girls and cockney chavs turning up at a robbery acting tough and somehow taking down these hard guy criminals who are armed with shotguns and who just beat a load of security guys up! And then Ray Winstone arrives and lets out a lame "We're the Sweeney shithead, you're nicked!" Definitely not in the same league as John Thaw and co!

I assume Flashpoint is good. DC is great with all their animated stuff

Yeah that was a good one. And it was interesting to see Bruce Wayne's dad as Batman...
