Official Black Country Communion Thread

Black Country Communion are releasing their second album early next week, and have begun a tour of the U.S. and Europe. I think there is enough to talk about to pull them out of the Joe Bonamassa thread and give them one of their own.

There are a pleasantly surprising number of Bonamassa fans here in TRF. And for those of you who would appreciate his playing more if it was more rock oriented, and less blues oriented, Black Country Communion is that vehicle.

For those who may not know, Black Country Communion are:

Glenn Hughes - Vocals, Bass

Joe Bonamassa - Guitars, Vocals

Derek Sherinian - Keyboards

Jason Bonham - Drums

Their first album, Black Country, was released on September 21st, 2010. I pre-ordered it, and it came in the mail on September 18th. I was able to listen to it while I was driving to the Rush concert that evening!

No. But it is VERY representative of what I wish I could do to some people.

On Monday, September 20th, the night before their first album was released, they played a gig in London, and cameras were there!

People who have seen them live always seem to say this song is the highlight of the show.

Yeah it's a good album MD...kind of a 70s throwback hard rock/blues album but at the same time very modern sounding, with great playing and good songs, and Hughes' voice is great as usual. The only knock on it is Sherinian hardly gets used.

I think D.S. was used enough by Dream Theater years ago laugh.gif

Buy it, buy it now, buy it fast. I love it, it's like 1974 came back. Glenn's voice is one of those that seems to be getting better.

I'm embarrassed to admit I'd never heard of Glenn Hughes until I started seeing the YouTube videos of him playing with Joe Bonamassa at the Guitar Center King of the Blues Finals in 2009.

Obviously you're not a Deep Purple fan, or a Black Sabbath fan... tongue.gif
