Joshua
Not so much concerned with what kind of movie it'd be. Just pick several actors/actresses you think would make an awesome cast in an awesome flick. The budget is there but be realistic. No dead people or time travel with your choices. briremo
I'm going with Gary Oldman and Ed Norton too. James Woods is amazing, a little over the top sometimes but a cool cat for sure. I think Nicole Kidman is superior as well. Meryl Streep in Julie and Julia. Oh Keanu Reeves and Kevin Costner...

GeddyRulz
Sean Penn Dustin Hoffman Morgan Freeman Anthony Hopkins Robin Williams (in dramatic roles, not silly comedies) Meryl Streep (needs a really meaty dramatic role again; too much fluff the past 15 years) James Woods Philip Seymour Hoffman Cate Blanchett ...so many... There may not be a better 40-something actor today than Penn. I've seen him all over the map with the roles he chooses, and he's awesome and convincing in each. Think of how different his characters were in "Mystic River," "I Am Sam," and "Milk." Y'all better recognize that he can play ANYONE and make it convincing. I love DeNiro and Nicholson, especially Nicholson, but I can't pick them. You see those guys onscreen and all you can think is "There's Jack." They're so iconic, it makes it nearly impossible to suspend disbelief and see them as THEIR CHARACTERS.
Joshua
Can't believe I overlooked Eastwood. QUOTE (GeddyRulz)There may not be a better 40-something actor today than Penn. I liked him too when he played the shotgun-wielding rescuer in Katrina Aftermath. Oh wait... QUOTE (GeddyRulz)I love DeNiro and Nicholson, especially Nicholson, but I can't pick them. JohnnyBlaze
Hate to say it but: I don't know about De Niro anymore. He seems more like a caricature of himself than the greatness that he used to be (and I could say the same about Nicholson). Dream casts are tricky. It seems better to have the right combination of actors (see: Magnolia) than an entire cast of superstars. Morgan Freeman & Denzel Washington always seem to mix well with whoever they're with. And I'd put Clint & Gary Oldman in there too because they always seem to give the films an air of respectability
