Gotta love that raspy 'raped goat' voice!

Can't help it. I'm so Budgie-addicted at the moment, I'm playing Bandolier and Never Turn Your Back On A Friend over and over again. It's nearly a religious exercise. (Give us this day our daily Breadfan...) :D

I'm being honest and say that though I'm familiar with the name Budgie, I've not actually heard anything they've done. Will have to rectify this and look them up.

Budgie became so essential for me, since I rediscovered them a few weeks ago. I literally fell in love with some of their albums.

At the moment my fave songs are Napoleon Bona Part 1 and Part 2, In The Grip Of A Tyrefitter's Hand and Breaking All The House rules. Ah f**k, they're all good. It's so much fun to immerge into these albums and rock out to that fantastic groove. :haz: :madra: :smoke:

I first heard Budgie listening to the Boneyard on Sirius. Of course it was Breadfan. I couldn't find anything from them on iTunes, so one of our TRF brethren set me up with a fair amount of their stuff, and it's all f***ing brilliant! :haz:

I have their first four releases in my collection somewhere. I wore them out in my youth.....

What a friggin unique sound this band has. I had almost forgotten. As a Rush fan way back its no wonder I picked up this bands stuff and listened to it all the time. Nice post.... :ebert:

Budgie is so great. I'm glad that my friends got me into them. They're like a proggy mix of Rush, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. It's a shame they never became more popular.

I agree I think they're cool. It's too bad they didn't do more.

After a listening marathon, lasting for month now, Budgie became my official No. 2 Band. I'm glad that I rediscovered them and it's even better that there are a few albums left that I haven't heard yet. :haz:

Yes it's a killer. :haz:

How is your band doing with the cover version?

They're actually like a cross between early Rush and early Sabbath

Here's a couple more funny song titles

Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman

You're The Biggest Thing Since Powdered milk

In the Grip of a Tyrefitters Hand

Quacktor and the Bureaucats

Sky High Percentage (awesome tune!)

Forearm Smash

True and you can't put them into a category, they've played their own league. :haz:

and early Wishbone Ash, early Nektar, early UFO and very early Scorpions. Just like a bunch of bands sounded in the beginning of the 70's. Budgie rocks and 70's music rules. :givebeer:

We haven't had much chance to look at it yet, except for me and the bass player jamming it out a bit, but it's our next priority (I'm making sure of that!)

WHAT A BAND!!

Wales gave us 2 great bands back then, Budgie & Man.

Man were amazing. Very hard to categorise, boogie-prog might be a start.

I was beginning to think I was the only Man fan around here

Don't know any thing about the band,

But I see folks posting about them in the "listening thread". I will check them out later today.

I  Budgie

It's kind of funny because they've been around forever but I've never met people who've heard of them until recently. I was having a discussion about music with a girl in her 20's and she brought them up, we were soooo excited to meet another person who actually knew who they were.
