madra sneachta
Just a thought - What are your fave films based on or heavily featuring music I'd nominate - This Is Spinal Tap - Unbeatable The Blues Brothers - Awesome The Wall - Pretentious, overblown, incoherent, brilliant Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? - Qualifies in my book School of Rock - Because giving 2112 to 11 year kids is to be encouraged Backbeat - It's all dick, and all the better for it. I've excluded documentary/concert footage based films like The Last Waltz, The Song Remains the Same and Rattle and Hum, but no doubt I've missed some classics. Over to you!! CygnusX-1Bk2
A Hard Day's Night Help Rocky Horror Picture Show The Kids Are Alright Head The Blues Brothers FM Amadeus That Thing You Do Back Beat Heavy Metal This Is Spinal Tap The Buddy Holly Story The Wall Little Shop of Horrors Tommy Quadrophenia Detroit Rock City A Mighty Wind Great Balls of Fire Hedwig and the Angry Inch La Bamba Eddie and the Cruisers American Hot Wax Dead Man's Curve (campy but enjoyable) Sgt. Pepper with the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton was a piece of crap. I have the sound track, but I don't I've listened to it since John Lennon was shot. I also have a distaste for Elvis movies. There are some really cool old rock films that I can't remember the names of because they were pretty generic. I could have also mentioned Staurday Night Fever and Grease, but I am on the fence about those. I saw Xanadu not long ago. I remember seeing that quite a bit when I was younger, but in retrospect it is really bizarre. Good music by ELO though.
Moonraker
Ok, I have to mention Six String Samurai too. Anyone who watches this movie will quickly become a fan of siberian surfer music. Watch this movie and you will all put it at the top of the list Edited September 6, 2004 by Moonraker

Terrific movie. Did you come up with that on your own, or did a grown-up help you? Was that necessary? Yes it was, He said that to me in a post earlier so I did it to about 10 of his. You need to ask him if the things he says are necessary. Go to his profile and click on, "READ ALL POSTS BY THIS MEMBER" and you will see a large number of his last 30 posts are him saying smart ass shit to something I said. He's trying to piss me off so I will go off and get banned. Please check out his last few posts. You will see what I'm talking about.

Sorry about the assumption. It's OK, this has been going on for a while now. I should just ignore him but it pisses me off when people try to belittle me and try to make me feel stupid. It's about to get out of hand here. It's very unecessary, I need to be the bigger person and ignore him but I can't help to get pissed. It's hard to believe this guy is 40 years old. 1-0-0-1-0-0-1
This is what happens when overheated political discussions spill out onto the rest of the board. I hate politics. Shall we get back on topic? "Goodfellas" isn't a music-based film per se, but the way Scorcese used songs from the '70s and '80s to underscore the action in this film was genius. Especially the slide guitar and piano ending of "Layla" and Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love."

That movie sounds cool, I liked Sargent Peppers even though the BEE Gees played as the beatles.
