Timo
How about 'Rush 'n' Roulette' ? The album cover could be a picture of 'the lads' standing around and laughing in a casino or some such. No? You think it's a bad idea? Just a thought...

Actually, after reading the recent thread about dodgy suits in the Randon Samples pages, they'd probably win!!!!!!.

And to the idea of a christmas album...think about it... commercial enterprise / Geddy's jewish background... Not only a terrible idea..won't EVER happen... Guest NoDeity
QUOTE (NeilPeartFan2112 @ Jan 19 2005, 03:49 PM) Why do you say that a Christmas album is a terrible idea? Christmas is a Christian celebration. As has already been mentioned, Geddy is Jewish. You don't get a lot of Jews doing Christmas albums. Secondly, Neil describes himself as an agnostic. He doesn't believe in God. Considering the jabs Neil takes at religion in quite a few songs, I can't see him being up for doing a bunch of hymns. I don't know where Alex stands. Thirdly, as has also already been mentioned, Christmas albums are generally seen as a money grab. They're often also seen as a desperate attempt by a has-been to cling to some last shreds of fame. Rush is a band that prides itself on integrity so I can't see them stooping to something like that.
Grand Designs
That's a good point. I'm a new civil engineering student, so I could see Rush titeling a new album using an engineering term(s). I don't know any terms as of now, since I'm new to this field, but as I learn more, it will be easier for me to come up with "possible candidates" for an album title. Rush is a band that prides itself on integrity so I can't see them stooping to something like that. Well, ok... 1) Not all Christmas songs are Hymns or about god: jingle bells, santa claus is comin' to town, Rudolph, Winter Wonderland, Sleigh Ride, Silver Bells, Home For the Holidays, Frosty the Snowman, Blue Christmas, Baby Please Come Home, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus just to mane a few 2) Alex has already done a Christmas song: The Little Drummer Boy & it also happens to be a christian one 3) As for Geddy being Jewish, they could make it a holiday album & do Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, maybe a cover of Adam Sandlers The Hanukkah Song 4) As far as a "money grab", what is doing an album of cover tunes usually done for? Don't get me wrong I really like Feedback & bought it immediately, but if you are going to go down that road then at least be fair. If you don't like christmas music or just wouldn't want to hear the boys do that kind of album say that instead. Don't come up with ideas that are so easy to find counter points to.
