  1. I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE EMAIL I RECEIVED WITH THE CODE FOR PRE SALE STARTING TODAY..... Anyone else have that info? Thanks
  2. This was show #20!! for me..Still rockin'.......Geddy's voice stronger it seemed than last tour. Neil was his usual badass self...But, ALEX stole the show......for me! I haven't seen him play like that in years...he absolutely tore it up in the Working Man encore! Shreddin like a youngster! Awesome!
  3. A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. "Human beings are the only animals that stutter", she says. A little girl raises her hand. "I had a kitty-cat who stuttered", she volunteered. The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident. "Well", she began, "I was in the back yard with my kitty and the rottweiler that lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard. "That must've been scary", said the teacher "It sure was", said the little girl. "My kitty raised his back, went 'Fffff, Fffff, Fffff' ... and before he could say "f**k," the rottweiler ate him!"

I know some people will think I'm deranged, but I think WYWH is far superior to Dark Side Not deranged at all, sir! Everyone has their own opinions. Here's one you probably don't ever hear. I consider myself a lifelong, long-time Pink Floyd fan and what I consider my favorite work of theirs is probably unusual to many. I've heard it all...but to me Wish You Were Here, Animals, and Dark Side are my 3 faves out of the whole catelogue. To me Animals is simply PF at their best...the mixture of sounds, lyrics, timing, etc. only as Pink Floyd can do it! Wish You Were Here is a very close second. I would put The Wall as my 4th favorite....but my number 5 would probably be Divison Bell..strangely enough. I don't ever seem to hear much praise for this album, and I know some die hards don't even consider it PF since someone's missing, but I love it! Go figure....Wearing the Inside Out and Coming Back to Life are two of my fave PF tunes. Anybody else feel this way? Tell me I'm not crazy... You must be hanging out with the wrong crowd. I know plenty of people who love Div Bell. Your favorite isn't strange either. I also know plenty of people with the same favorite. Well, at least you confirmed for me I am not crazy! Thanks for that........Hmmm, need to check that social calendar...Lol!

  6. At the risk of seriously dating myself.......... My first album I owned (received as a gift..was The Beatles - Let It Be) The first I ever purchased with my own money was....Suitable For Framing - Three Dog Night.. Boy, that WAS a long time ago..... My first 8-track was pro-nounced Lynyrd Skynyrd followed quickly by Frampton Comes Alive.....- I wore those two out........Rush came about a year later.......

I have seen them 4 or 5 times through the years. My ex-wife was a big Stones fan. I only recall one of those concerts being even marginally good. Except 3 of the shows ZZ Top opened for the Stones and blew them off the stage all 3 times. Go figure......... Tickets sold out in 4 mins!!!! My mom got the last 4 tickets for the Ottawa show... sold out in 30 minutes. As they say.........there's no accounting for taste..

  9. Probably going to see Queensryche and Judas Priest in June. Tickets just went on sale last week or so, but gotta wait a couple of weeks for the cash flow. I don't see that show as in danger of selling out before I can get tickets(that sounds bad). But, really, not all that many shows sell out in minutes or days like they used to. I think that's because here in Dallas-Fort Worth we have so many venues now - there's just too many dang shows going on all the time competing for that allmighty dollar. Although, I heard on the radio System of a Down's show recently sold out in like 20 minutes, supposedly. Don't know what venue, though. Anyhow back to the QR/Priest show..I don't even know for sure who the headliner is. I like them both, but I am really a big QR fan. I don't care much for those 45 minute opening band sets that some bands sometimes do. If QR is the opener...hmmm. might just save my money. Better check that out. However, may I go on record and say that when I last saw QR a few months ago and they did an evening with QR, no opener, and the second set was Operation Mindcrime in it's entirety non-stop with stage props, actors, etc. It friggin' rocked. I was pleasantly blown away. That's 3 times now I have seen QR and they have kicked ass all three times. One of the best acts live I have ever seen...next to Rush, of course.. COOL.........
  10. I'm sorry. I did not answer the question. My first concert was when a friend drug me to see a band called RUSH in 1978 at Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Been a fan ever since...
  11. QUOTE (Pratt Boy @ May 6 2005, 11:07 AM) QUOTE (anagramking @ May 6 2005, 10:38 AM) My first concert was Van Halen in 1984. It was also the loudest one I've ever been to, still. I went to than concert, too. It was very loud. 1984, the last tour with David Lee Roth. I saw them that tour in Dallas... They were loud. you couldn't hear Dave for sh#@...but the music was awesome. However, for me anyway, a few years later, AC/DC at Reunion Arena in Dallas was louder..the loudest to date for me...though when I took my daughter to see Limp Bizkit a few years back, they were pretty loud.
  12. Power Tools!! make life worth living.. May your battery always be fully charged.... Bye
  13. Power drills are cool! Corded or cordless...what's the preference?
  14. Sorry to interrupt..........
  15. Oh, I'm sorry. Preparation IS EVERYTHING!
  16. I used to have a girlfriend that had to lie down and use a pair of pliers to zip up her pants, they were so tight. Getting into those pants was a real achievement! Joke! Remember Angel Flight slacks for guys? Talk about tight. You left very little to the imagination, if you know what I mean.
  17. QUOTE (DonnaWanna @ Mar 9 2005, 11:40 PM) Hangin out Down the street.... The same old thing We did last week Not a thing to doooo But talk to youuuuu! Were all allright Were all allright Love that show...Really well done and representative of the time. I especially remember almost wearing some of those goofy shirts they wear. Who can forget corduroy?
  18. QUOTE (Slim @ Jan 30 2005, 07:25 PM) Yes, and I find that to be in poor taste, on the whole. Hope I haven't upset you too much there I, for one, find the tone and malicous intent reflected in your posts (in general) to be in extremely POOR TASTE... But, that is just my opinion.......
  19. QUOTE (Proggy @ Jan 21 2005, 06:13 AM) I agree that COS, HYF (listening to it right now in fact) and Presto are sadly overlooked gems in the studio catalogue, but I also don't understand why Test For Echo is so massively unpopular within the Rush online community. To me it sounds like a spirited record -if I may kindly skip Dog Years and Virtuality, lol... I certainly enjoy it more than Counterparts or Vapor Trails and find myself listening to it on a regular basis. Proggy, I agree! I never have understood why T4E gets so many knocks..musically it signalled a return to guitar driven Rush we all love. I totally disregard Dog Years and Totem on that CD..but still play it way more than VT, which I found a bit muddled and disorganized lyrically and musically.. And Counterparts I have always thought has some of the best lyrics...nothing ground breaking musically..but another great Rush record.. IMHO..as always... It's all RUSH..gotta love it!
  20. Although, Redstar I have to say Counterparts is probably #3. I didn't really consider it that much underrated because every freak I know loves it! However overall (sales, ratings, etc.) it IS underrated. Another album I love due to the lyrics alone..then the music grabs you.. No one but , EH?
  21. Overall, I have to say COS is the most forgotten and underrated. I mean, if you haven't listened to COS in a while, pull it out. When I listen to it I am struck by how powerful a sound it has...yet how different a mix of material..The boys really reaching out and trying some things..shedding their ZEPISM as I heard someone say. Definitely a turning point in the RUSH sound, you have to admit. A close second, PRESTO! Simply some of the simplest, freshest and yet poignant lyrics of all. Musically, not overpowering or unique- hence the forgotten status of this one I fear.Anyway, through the years it's not my favorite - yet, I find myself pulling it out time and time again to hear... Anagram The Pass (one of my favorites) Red Tide War Paint Superconductor (I actually heard this on the radio last week) Just IMHO!
