This Saturday is deer seasons opening weekend with gun here in my part of Florida. Mornings are getting cooler, can just feel the season in the air. Hard to concentrate at work. One of my favorite and most anticipated weekends all year. Definitely need fresh venison, all I have left is a soup bone and one pack of sausage from last season. My dad has 80 acres up there, and his cousin has another 120 acres that I can hunt on too. I'm hoping for a better year than last. I got a buck and a doe in 2005, but got skunked last year. I visited them for Rush this summer and it was a week or two before they were moving to a new house in Columbus area. Anyways they had a freezer full of venison that had to be eaten - we had venison steaks for breakfast lunch and dinner - such a wonderful meat. ladirushfan80 Posted November 20, 2007 Share Posted November 20, 2007 Nice job Cygnus!!!! welp, i've been "widowed" for about a month now... with nothing to show for it in my freezer... husband and the boy left wednesday night AGAIN... this time for gun. he's an avid bow hunter as well, but gun season is like a family thing... his dad, brother, the youngins'.... all hang out together and "hunt" husband is still coming up empty, but guess what? he's out tonite and probably every day/night this week to keep trying... he loves thanksgiving weekend... he's spends it all in his blind. guess the Bro in law got an 11 point this past weekend. and yes, there are pictures, but they are on my other system, so i'll have to post them tomorrow... the boy shot a spiker yesterday. got the txt message while i was tailgating before the detroit lions game.... the spent the rest of the morning and afternoon looking for it, and never found it.... the one that got away...... Lit up with anticipation I arrive at the Hunting site The sky is still dark, nearing dawn On the Florida coastline... Anyways...as the sun roze, I started to notice movement, then the deer began to appear at one point I had 15 does around but the buck never showed...took out my camera but the batteries were dead(crap).
