Are Migraines a symptom of your epilepsy? They predate my prognosis by about 5 yrs, the family physician could never understand why I had such terrible migraines until I had my first seizure in High School, and then he was like, "Okay I see a connection here."

I used to be on Tegretol, but it stopped being effective after awhile. I recently switched to a newer drug, Zonegran, more expensive, but REALLY effective.

I've taken Zonegran, but it never controlled my seizures. I wasn't on it very long, but it's been years since I've taken it. Maybe I should run it by my Dr. I've never tried Tegretol. Right now I'm taking Lamictal, 400mg AM & PM. I have taken Dilantin and Depakote. Depakote made me throw up, and Dilantin made me feel like I was on speed. My appetite was terrible. Lamictal makes me tired and messes with my appetite, but not as bad as bad as Dilantin did. Right now Lamictal seems to be a good drug for me, I just need to make sure I eat right. Now that I'm on disability, my co-pay for drugs is only $2.00. I think I've tried most drugs out there for Epilepsy.

I don't have those. I have syncope. The doctor wants to do an MRI but my insurance has denied it

my sister is epileptic. they finally got eveything under control so she rarely has them anymore but it was tough going for a while

We're throwing stuff away we don't need or want, and packing the things we do. I'm so excited about the move, I never thought I'd live in Vegas again! It's so nice out there year 'round! It hardly, if ever, snows out there, and the sun shines 365 days a year unless it rains! Everybody thinks the people who live there gamble all the time, when I lived there before, I hardly ever did! If you live there, it's not as exciting as when you just go to gamble and visit. When you live there, you spend money to live, not to gamble all the time. The only time I gambled out there was when someone came to visit. Then, I watched them blow their money!   I did hit a Royal Flush on a video Poker machine once at Arizona Charlies, they came and paid me $1000.00 cash! I hardly ever went downtown to the bigger casinos because the machines are tighter, and the traffic was terrible! Damn tourists! I hardly ever stood in line @ the bank to cash my paycheck because the casino's will cash your check. They want your money in the machines and on the tables! I Vegas!

Thanks for asking DS, how I'm doing good, no seizures lately. Just sticking with the things that work, eat right, take my meds and get plenty of rest. I miss being able to drive, everytime I have one, I lose my driver's license for 6 months. Not that I can really afford to drive, it's that feeling of accomplishment!

 

Oh, and to have my DL in my wallet so I can remember who I am!

Good today so far. I need call in a refill for my meds, but I have enough for the next few days. Tonight is trash night, so it's time to make another mound out by the street. Moving is going to be like starting over again.

 

I love moving, especially when it's to Las Vegas!!!
