GhostGirl
I missed a few days of running last week because of work and childcare issues, and then I picked today, our first humid day, to start back. Ugh. The humidity really got to me. I didn't run the distance I had planned, and at first I felt bad. But, I'm trying not to be too hard on myself, and I'll try again on Thursday. Barney's Alter
For the first time, my bad leg numbed up and I had to stop. Blisters too. Time for new shoes. BTW - Far Cry is awesome to listen to while running, same witrh Malnar and TMMB!!

queenshall
I started jogging / running when I was 18 or 19 years old and I am 45 now. Mainly because I was starting to be a lazy overweight git. I always played football ( soccer ) since I was a kid so I was always quite fit. I have completed 7 or 8 Marathons ( just been listening to that !!!! ), including the London Marathon 3 times and god knows how many half Marathons. I never get a good time ( best was the Sheffield Marathon 3 h 44m years ago ) but I enjoy my training and I can try and solve problems I may have in my life because it is suprising where your mind goes when your on a long run. So anyone thinking of staring go ahead but take it easy and build up gradually, plenty of fluid and eat properly....God I sound like me mum!!!! Well, I have been doing it for a long time. Yes, in time you will work your way into it I must clarify my race is actually a 5.6 mile run. It is the 27th of June. Last year I finished 46th out of 127 men. My time was 43:47. Not too shabby for an old guy Edited May 26, 2007 by troutman
barney_rebel
I did a pretty stupid thing tonight - I was going to run, probably go for another 10 miles. I didn't eat much, but that was ok because I was going to eat when I return. I was about to leave, then I had to do yard work. Then I had to look after Ryan. It was a good few hours after when I planned to leave. I had a bit of soup before I left. It wasn't enough... I ran for may be 2-3 miles and I said "screw it". Ran home, with a light job, and ate frozen lasagna. I'm still hungry... I'll have to make it up tomorrow now.
