prog.fusion
so, we all know we have constant influences, but in the journey that is being a musician you constantly get inspired by many new and different artists to stretch your means. so, besides long-standing inspirations, who currently is giving you something new to aspire to? for me......Steve Rothery, John McLaughlin and Frank Zappa. rushfanNlv
Besides the great one, I am really into the Eagles Long Run album at the moment. I love the melodic, simple leads and the use of effects.

Necromancer
Pete Steele. I LOVE that distorted sound he has. He's not the chop monster that some guys are, but he plays very heavy and I love that. I never wanted to learn to play with a pick, but because of him, i'm practicing it.
Disco
My chum Judith. Ah, bless. Group hug. No, but really. She's been the ideal piano teacher for me. What I don't need is someone telling me about scales or training me up to play Mozart. I have next to little musical talent, I accept this and any teacher I have needs to accept that well. And Judith does. She just listens to what I'm trying to say on the piano, and shows me how to say it (however limited that might be) better. It's just simple pointers like "If you keep structure with your left hand, your right hand can be used for colour" Edited March 20, 2007 by Disco

Peart Bonham Van Halen McBrain Copeland Apart from Peart, have moved on from them, though. In the last 10 years it's been: Hoglan Donati Lopez (Opeth) Portnoy Verbueren (Soilwork) Erlandssen (Arch Enemy) Herrera (Fear Factory) And many more... spawn666
Hmm well, let's see...you got 1. Dimebag Darrell(favorite of all time)[Pantera/Damageplan] R.I.P. 2.Randy Rhoads[Ozzy] R.I.P. 3.Mick Thompson[slipknot] 4/5.Matt K. Heafy and Corey Beaulieu [Trivium](favorite band) 6/7.Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield[Metallica] 8.Zakk Wylde[Ozzy/Black Label Society] And they've all been my influences for as long as I've been playing guitar,2-3 years, but I didn't get into Pantera and the sweet sounds of Dimebag until after his death, it's a shame i know and I do wish so much that he were still alive and that I listened to them sooner, oh well you can't change everything...R.I.P. Brother Dime.
