Signals1982
I think it will be "Babel." However, the film that should win is "Letters From Iwo Jima." And the film I would like to see win is "The Departed."

Signals1982
I thought Departed was better too. But I still think Babel's gonna win. Please vote for who you think will win.

rushgoober
I've seen Little Miss Sunshine and The Queen, neither of which I think deserves to win best picture, though both were really good movies. I would love to see a Martin Scorsese movie win for a change. I'd hate to see Clint Eastwood win because 1. I'd rather it not be a war movie that won, and 2. Clint Eastwood already won best picture for a horrible movie that never had any place even being nominated, much less winning best picture, and that of course is Unforgiven. anagramking
We watched Babel tonight. I'm mixed on this one. In some ways, very good, and in some ways, not that good. And no, Brad Pitt should not get Best Supporting Actor. I must say that he has to be one of the most overrated actors out there today. He was okay in this one, but not Oscar worthy. I still think it's likely to be The Departed that wins it.
GeddyRulz
My family and some of our friends have had an Oscar Party every year for the past 27 years. We each throw $5 into a pool, and the one who guesses the most winners correctly wins it all. I'm notoriously good at this contest, as I've won several times. "Departed" is the Best Picture winner this year, and Martin Scorsese will finally get his directing Oscar. Other picks: Actor - Forest Whittaker Actress - Helen Mirren Supp. Actor - Eddie Murphy Supp. Actress - Jennifer Hudson Orig. Screenplay - Little Miss Sunshine Adapted Screenplay - Departed Cinematography - Children of Men Editing - Babel Art Direction - Pan's Labyrinth Score - Queen Orig. Song - "Listen" (Dreamgirls) Sound Mixing - Dreamgirls Sound Editing - Letters Visual Effects - Pirates 2 Costume - Dreamgirls Makeup - Pan's Labyrinth Foreign Film - Pan's Labyrinth Documentary - An Inconvenient Truth Doc. Short - Blood... Animated Film - Cars Animated Short - Little Matchgirl Live Action Short - West Edited February 25, 2007 by GeddyRulz
Signals1982
I am very glad that Departed won! It deserved it. But I didn't think it had a chance! Kudos to Scorsese on his win. Long deserved!
alphseeker
Hard to believe Pans Labyrinth didn't win best foreign film - HAAA now my wife has to watch Departed. She made me watch it at the theater alone because she thought it was just a studpid bloody mafia movie. She was partially right but now she has to see it because it WON!! Short - Blood... Animated Film - Cars Animated Short - Little Matchgirl Live Action Short - West I was correct about Marty and his film "The Departed." Among the biggest categories, I only got Supporting Actor wrong... it was a toss-up between Arkin and Murphy, and I incorrectly guessed Murphy. My final score: 13/24. Good enough to tie my sister for the win... I pocketed $40 on a $5 bet.
Signals1982
I got 15/24. But my friend got 16. She guessed "The Lives of Others" to win Best Foreign Film. Everyone else put "Pan's Labrynth." I was the only one to choose "Happy Feet" as best animated movie.
