Back when I was the receptionist, we had this loudmouthed sales rep from Texas come in and ask for a phone. I pointed him too the pay phones. When he got off the phone, he came over to the desk to sign in, complaining (you have to imagine the pure Texas accent here) "DAY-UM, lil' girl! FORTY SEE-YENTS jes' ta make a call! Why, bay-yuk in TEXAS we can talk to HEY-YULL AND BAY-YUK for a DIIIME!" The guy who'd been asking me a question when he came over gave him a look and said, "Yeah, but from there it's a local call!"
