Actually, Ken, on a LOT of the songs they did, the guitar player was pretty good. He hit a large majority of the leads correctly, and the drummer is bad-ass. I can't fault the guys ability, as i know practically EVERY song they did. Had I played those songs as well as he did most of the night, i would have been fairly happy about it. I just think when it came to the Jimi Hendrix National Anthem.....He made some bad choices. REALLY bad choices. And 4 other guys in that band didn't tell him....dude....scratch that... It's ok, though.....I did. Ahh, okay. I know when I gave up the music side of things, it was really tough for me to see the one guy I'd been in every band with, play with a new bass player. And awhile ago I read Manson say that when he saw Twiggy play with APC it was like watching an ex make out with a new guy. I thought that summed up the feeling I had had years earlier. Almost more of a jealousy thing. Musical partnerships can be just as strong. As for the national anthem thing... i don't think ANYONE should have ever done it. I hated Jimi's version too. For me i think it's too big of a song to be loaded with feedback and all that crap. I basically hate hearing anyone do it without the full reverance it deserves. I feel ya all the way Necro I went over spring break and watched my old band with a new drummer, and it wasn't easy at all! Especially considering the fact that my best friend and I started this band together and put so much time and energy into it. But it all came to a halt when I ended up in the hospital having surgery, and everything changed. Still, it's hard for me to hear someone else playing songs I wrote the drum parts for!
