I was inspired to listen to the original lineup after listening to Steven Wilson go on a long rant about the balls of Godley and Creme to release Consequences

this is an example of showing your whole hand all at once.  Boston did the same.  not saying it's a bad thing but it's like anything you do will be compared to your high bar that you set.

I'd say Boston to a lesser extent...they did good for a while...(and I find the debut a beautiful but eh album)

Frank Zappa- Over-Nite Sensation (10/10)

My fav Zappa period. Over-Nite Sensation to One Size Fits all.

Has gems all over but this is my go to Zappa run.

Doobie Brothers-One Step Closer (8/10)

i have such bad memories and remember hearing such bad things about this record.  re-visiting it i really like it.  granted it's more Michael Mcdonald solo.  but i enjoy it.  and paired with his first solo album it works well.
