Segue Myles Posted December 27, 2023 Share Posted December 27, 2023 The Gaslight Anthem- Sink Or Swim One of the greatest bands of the past twenty years, I'd out them on the same pedestal as The Killers, Alter Bridge, Mastodon and Fleet Foxes as a band that deserves even more than what they got. This, their debut, has echoes of Pearl Jam and Springsteen amongst its punk influences, and to see Springsteen embrace them as a fan still makes me cheer inside. I adore this album, it may still be my absolute favourite. I've not played Gaslight Anthem in a long while, and absence has indeed made this heart grow fonder. Well, it won me over over time, and I now appreciate it for being the masterpiece that it is. Again, the Springsteen meets The Clash stylings really please me.
