1-0-0-1-0-0-1
My only complaint is that, in spots, I can't hear the Trump sound bytes too well. Maybe the source material isn't good quality to begin with? I like all the different guitar tones in this (I can tell which solos were played by Fridge!) and the SRV tone fits perfectly in that middle section. Good riffs too. Fridge, yes, I still need to finish listening to the last Cowboys album.

Maybe the source material isn't good quality to begin with?Source is youtube. The volume relative to the music is lower, for sure, and that's by design, but good feedback that it might be too low (what you listen on also might make a difference).I like all the different guitar tones in this (I can tell which solos were played by Fridge!) and the SRV tone fits perfectly in that middle section. Good riffs too.I've had that SRV riff in my toolbox probably since about 1988. It was never a good fit for any of the bands was in (and I'm not good enough of a soloist to really do it justice), but the out-of-left-field feel to it, relative to the other riffs in the song, was exactly what I was looking for.Fridge, yes, I still need to finish listening to the last Cowboys album. This will be on the next Cowboys album, so you're one song up on it!

The first byte at 0:25 sounds fine. You can understand what he's saying and, like you wanted, it's not overpowering the music. The second one at 1:11 is tough to hear, and the third one at 2:18 is tough in spots. I'm listening on my computer which is fed directly into my 5.1 home theater system. The fixed wah on the opening solo was a nice fit, too.

condemned2bfree
Some of the guitar tones and playing are really really nice. Nice one.
stoopid
I was just telling Scott about this, the laugh track makes it for me. We're doing something similar (sound bites) in a song, which is why it came up.
