  1. I have LPs from bands with more songs than Feedback, where the album length is still shorter than Feedback, and I consider them full length albums.
  2. The band seems to count Feedback.
  3. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Jun 17 2012, 10:12 AM) The comments about Adele's appearance are revolting, luckily it's only a tiny minority of posters, and some of you will be gone soon enough, once you've shot your collective new album bolts. I'd like to invite all of the Adele-trolls to post their most unattractive pics on here, so we can all take pot shots at your appearances. Ignorance might be bliss, but you should never flaunt it. FWIW, I have both of her albums, beautiful voice, they are a bit sappy & lachrymose in parts, but some tracks are killer, e.g. Set Fire to The Rain. Seriously. It's not like Alex or Neil are models of peak physical fitness either!

    Foo Fighter nods?

Also the opening riff to HF is really similar to the opening riff of another song off the last Foo Fighters album but I can't remember which one. It probably doesn't help that I just heard the new Foo Fighters for the first time last week!

    Foo Fighter nods?

I definitely get a Foo Fighters vibe from Headlong Flight, but it's more to do with the fact that the last Foo Fighters album had a strong Rush feel and Rush is still sounding like Rush. Like the staccato guitar & drumwork under the "Some days were dark, I wish that I could live them all again" is very Foo Fighters...esque?
  6. QUOTE (AndroidOnTheRun @ Jun 16 2012, 10:55 PM) I gotta say I remain EXTREMELY skeptical of the initial premise. Rush has worked with guest musicians many times, yet have made it clear on countless occasions that having only the three of them onstage is very important to them. Now I know, I know, they're Rush and they shake it up all the time, but I am hard-pressed to believe they would feel the need to bring live strings just because a few songs on the new album use them prominently. Yes, CA has used string arrangements more prominently than in the past, but other than that, is there anything else to this but wild rumor? Yes, Neil said in his interview last week that they were considering bring a string section on tour. He did say *considering*, but is it still a rumor if somebody in the band confirms that they're looking into it as an option?
  7. well I guess there's only one good use for my copy of the album now that I just realized it sucks! http://exploresearchunderstand.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/vann_fast_09__paper_people_and_vinyl_record_bowl_115_1250510113.jpg
  8. still not tired of it!
  9. Realistically I think it's probably their last album. I hope they make more but it would be a great high note to go out on if they don't.
  10. I disagree! I refuse to believe that a member of the band influenced how the album sounds in any way!

    Will you??

Just bought the vinyl and it came with a card to download it. I really don't get people who buy the CD and buy a copy from itunes, but if you want to buy 2 copies of the exact same thing when you only really legally have to buy 1 and rip it... go ahead. I'm sure the band doesn't mind
  12. My downloaded copy (legit, from the download card that came with the vinyl) sounds MUCH better than the leaked copy, and I haven't listened to the vinyl all the way through yet, but from what I have listened to that sounds better than the mp3s. None of them sound horrible to me, my main gripe is that during the louder parts Alex sometimes gets buried.
  13. It's good, but I think Natural Science, La Villa, and Between the Wheels are better.
  14. It'd be funnier if they were all 4:33 long

    The Wreckers

people holding hands, forming a chain so they don't lose each other as they try to make it to safety

    The Wreckers

pretty sure it's a typo and it should be "through" not "tough"

    RS Q&A w/Neil

Hmm, What do they have planned for the next 2 years? The European tour ends almost exactly 1 year from now.

    RS Q&A w/Neil

I wonder how much this means coming from Neil instead of Alex: Is part of you tempted to just play this whole album straight through on this tour, like you did with Moving Pictures last time? Honestly, we never know until we get to rehearsals. We always pick at least a half-dozen songs more than we end up playing, because the show gets too long. The songs we pick are the songs we want to play, and this time we picked a whole bunch of older ones that we want to bring back and present in a different way. So our wishlist always exceeds what's possible.
  19. Amazon but it's going to be here today either way !
  20. My vinyl copy is "out for delivery" so it should be waiting for me when I get home
  21. QUOTE (Todem @ Jun 11 2012, 10:32 AM) If there is anything that screams 1970's prog era Rush it is Seven Cities of Gold. A monster of a song. Layden with crunchy riffs, a space oddessy intro and solo section....I think it is one of the most visual and crunchy songs on the album hands down. Live this song is going to melt everyones faces off. The choruses ruin it, and it's one of the songs where you can really hear the strain in Geddy's voice. If the whole song was like the intro it'd be awesome!

    Carnies

It's good but not one of the best songs on the album. I do really like the bridge and the way it teases you with what you think is going to be a solo, only to have it come back and be a lead that Geddy sings along with (and actually sings well!)
  23. This will probably change but at the moment: The Anarchist Headlong Flight The Wreckers Clockwork Angels Caravan Carnies BU2B The Garden Halo Effect Seven Cities of Gold Wish Them Well BU2B2
  24. The bassline to the Anarchist has basically been looping in my brain for the past 2 days.
