  1. I have in the past. This time around I had tix for Pittsburgh and Buffalo. Sold 3rd row tix for Buffalo to a very good friend so he could take his son ($100.00 for both tix). The boy got guitar picks at his very first Rush show. This time around I have no desire to see multiple shows.
  2. I was one of those fat asses and I loved the show in my own way. Got a problem with that?
  3. The reason why Buffalo sold well is because the city was ignored on the last tour. RUSH needs to mix it up a bit from tour to tour. Abscence makes the heart grow fonder.
  4. I'm thinkin' that next tour I will just go mainstream. Not sure who does the decision making regarding VIP packages, but in all honesty, compared to other packages, these SUCK!
  5. 5. I enjoyed it immensely, but had no desire to take in multiple shows like I did in previous tours.
  6. My first ever outdoor concert was in the early 80's and I prefer them to indoor all the way. Something magical about an outdoor concert - almost seems natural to me.
  7. QUOTE (HalfwayToGone @ Oct 23 2012, 02:55 PM) Rush was my third experience w/VIP Nation (Soundgarden in 2011 and KISS in Sept were the first two), and this is the only package with schwag being mailed--the other two shows gave the schwag at the show. My only other experiences were Down (artist arena)--schwag at the show. And Kyuss Lives (I think they had their own organization handling it)--schwag arrived long before the show (lots of it--they sent double the amount I ordered), AND then they sent another T-shirt after the tour, which was completely unexpected/unnecessary/not advertised. I was impressed. FWIW--the KISS package was the polar opposite of the Rush situation--organized, private acoustic set/meet and greet/autograph session for the VIP guests before the show, and then another full make-up photo session just before they went onstage. This is a very good observation. From my experiences with VIP - RUSH ranks down at the bottom when it comes to fan treatment.
  8. QUOTE (Mystic Rythm @ Oct 22 2012, 11:28 AM) Don't know what the next tour will be called but I can't see them hanging it up after this one when they are so adamant about being at their peak. Nice!!!!!! Unfortunately they will need a 30-minute break after that opener...or the Strings can do a solo or something...
  9. If Big Money was removed from PoW, then it would easily be my favorite RUSH album. I remember first hearing it(the entire cd) and thinking it was incredible. Still is in my thinking...apart from the song mentioned above.
  10. QUOTE (zac2112 @ Oct 17 2012, 12:50 PM) Tickets are expensive, but I think the boys try to give you value by playing three hours, and with the whole production. Funny i do have some old concert stubs from the 80s shows, and the GUP tour was twelve bucks!! 12 row center! I really wish that people would be more honest regarding the amount of playing time a RUSH show contains. Start Time: 7:45 End time: 10:45 Intermission: 20 Minutes Videos: 10 minutes Not quite the lengthy 3 hours that many love to thnk that RUSH plays: Cut out the extra crap and get back to playing Rock and Roll!!!!!
  11. QUOTE (TheWK90 @ Oct 17 2012, 02:15 PM) Hell, I went to the 9/11 Pittsburgh show and still haven't received my stuff. But you got da sticks!!!!!!!!
  12. QUOTE (Dscrapre @ Oct 12 2012, 07:41 PM) QUOTE (rayrushray @ Oct 12 2012, 11:58 AM) A perfect night of sleep awaits you, Shail. It's called ..................The 2012 Clockwork Angels Tour You'll start feeling drowsy by the third song.......and a deep sleep will envelope you by Intermission. You have 15 posts, and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them has been either a complaint about the setlist, or a complaint about other people's reactions to your complaints about the setlist. We get it, you didn't like the show. I'm sorry to hear that it was an unpleasant experience for you, but don't take it out on us. If you're mad at the band, then just stop going to see them. If your mad enough, you can write them a stern letter and ask for your money back. If you're really pissed, you can burn all of your Rush T-shirts and smash your LPs. Why do you insist on making post after post about how disappointed you were with the show? It's not our fault. We didn't make this setlist, the band did. Don't bug us with your complaints. Stop being a troll please.
  13. QUOTE (bigalfan @ Oct 12 2012, 08:45 AM) QUOTE (Snaked @ Oct 12 2012, 07:43 AM) It says "Every sector" not "Every album" They have 3 box sets titled "Sectors" and each is represented on this tour. How is that not accurate?
  14. For me it is a simple fix and it really has nothing to do with their set selection. My offering is this: 1. Drop the Intro, half-time, outro videos. Really now....once it was funny but now it is beyond ridiculous to me. This is a show of music, not a theater. 2. Sprinkle new material throughout evening - yes yes yes...CA is a "concept album," but it doesn't have to be back to back to back to back to back to back. Neither did S&A. I personally do not see this as a good formula for exposing new material live. It is a bit much... 3. Three drum solos? Good grief! One is enough. 4. In the place of items 1 & 3, place more tunes in there.
  15. QUOTE (presto123 @ Oct 9 2012, 05:49 PM) Disagree. R40 has a nice ring just as R30 did. Count on R40. Source?
  16. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Oct 9 2012, 01:16 PM) QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ Oct 9 2012, 11:58 AM) Been listening to Different Stages the last couple days. By far their best live recording. Great sound, great set list. Geddy can still hit nearly all of it. I haven't listened to it for a long time. The voice difference is stark. Age sucks. Make it stop. Seriously needed a DVD of that tour. I agree 100%, T4E Tour should have had a DVD along with it. Best tour since adopting the "Evening with Rush" theme. Its a shame this was not caught on film.
  17. QUOTE (D3strukt @ Oct 9 2012, 12:09 PM) There will be no R40. That would mean Rush is repeating itself. What is it that they never do? Repeat themselves. No R40. It's cheesy anyway.
  18. I hope it works out for you guys at the NJ show.
  19. QUOTE (ALifeson85 @ Oct 5 2012, 04:50 PM) QUOTE (ALifeson85 @ Oct 4 2012, 12:09 PM) QUOTE (drgrendel @ Oct 4 2012, 11:24 AM) CASUAL fan TRUE fan HARDCORE Fan "Casual" fan = Someone who only knows Rush, solely because of the songs they hear on the radio, but don't really bother to dig deeper into their catalogue. "True"/"Hardcore" fan = Someone who owns just about, if not ALL of the band's music, and would recognize every (or just about every) song, if it were played to them. Casual, Has heard Tom Sawyer. True, Knows Tom Sawyer air drum part lick for lick. Hardcore owns the bobble heads. Pretty much! lol Ok... I own the bobbleheads and they are in my office at work....so I am hardcore. I guess I do not like that label (hardcore) because I am not allowed to voice disappointment over CA Tour. Gotta love "labels." Can't we all just be RUSH FANS period? Or does there have to be a hierarchy?
  20. In Pittsburgh we were allowed inside the venue about an hour or so before they opened the gates. We had the opportunity to listen to the soundcheck. Was pretty cool.
  21. QUOTE (Mystic Slipperman @ Oct 5 2012, 08:15 PM) Anyone think the level of fan entitlement rises in relation to the ticket price? Just a thought.... There might be a correlation there...would be an interesting scientific study!
  22. Not sure why anyone would assume that this band will tour for 3+ years...... 2012-2013 - CA Tour 2014 - R40 - Really??????? I mean....seriously??????? Oh stop it....you are killing me here - milk is pouring out of my nose I am laughing so hard.....
  23. I replied maybe - I am not convinced that a single event (in this case a single tour)is a clear statement about anything.
