  1. Freewill for me. I like the song but something about it screams "pee break" when they play it. Can't explain it.....
  2. ASSUMING the OP is even correct. OMG you people jump from one rumor to the next! Is life that boring?
  3. All this hype can mean only one thing...it will fail in its goal to satisfy expectations.
  4. QUOTE (exiled yorkie @ May 3 2012, 09:22 PM) Maiden has a proper f***ing fan club where fans actually get tickets up front at normal prices Maiden knows how to look after it's fans You failed to mention that the Maiden Fan club requires a paid membership - the same does not hold true for Rush. Secondly, the Maiden "premium" tickets are Pit tix - not sure how many Rush fans would even consider Pit to be an option. I love the seats I get through both Maiden and Rush sales. I get to see both bands this summer.
  5. With higher expectations one should be prepared for and expect disapointment.
  6. When I was younger, I got all excited just being in the same building as the band. Now people get pissed if they get seats. What is wrong with the world?
  7. VIP works very well for us folks who are at work and cannot use State time to search and seek concert tickets. I hope they keep it. Having said that, it would be nice to disclose seat location at TOP, but not a deal breaker for me.
  8. I guess I am in the minority here...I like that there is such an option. I did the VIP thing for the TM tour and received AWESOME tix for both shows (many many many rows inside 15). In fact, the 3rd row were purchased at 8 pm the day they went on sale. I did not engage in the selecting, dumping, then selecting again process; just took what I was offered. But then again, I am a fan that is just happy to be going to see my favorite artists.
  9. QUOTE (Tick @ May 1 2012, 04:03 PM) QUOTE (drgrendel @ May 1 2012, 03:43 PM) I would like to add a few statements in support of the "other side." 1. Ticket buying is really not a hassle at all. In fact, I had my tickets purchased in less than 1 minute. Get this....from the comfort of my own chair, without multiple computers, without hunting, and fishing, and releasing. I FREAKEN LOVE THE PROCESS. One poster suggested that after the "process" they wanted to puke? Why? cos you put yourself through all that to possibly get close? lol - funny stuff 2. If one wishes to complain about seat location - then many of the posted comments have merit. So I'm thinkin it ain't about the money, it is more about "I am a member of a free fan club and I deserve .........., or "we are fans...we deserve...". Ummmmmmm - no - not how it works. 3. Life ain't about what is fair - Capitalism people....Capitalism...it is a system we love when it works for us, but like the Constitution, it can bite ya in the arse. In this case it may hurt a little bit. Question: Did everyone that went looking for tickets during the pre-sale get a ticket? If the answer is yes, then it was a success. Enjoy the show - that dude or dudette in the rafters is probably just as happy to be there as you are up there in the front row. Does that make them unworthy? This will be a very unpopular post, but really people, your going to the show. Who cares...... In case you didn't read this. This is reality... What VIP is esentially doing is saying... "Damn, scalpers make a lot of money. Why don't we just suck up all the good seats upfront so the average joe can't get a good seat. Then we will charge scalper prices and make tons extra for the top seats unableing the buyer to be able to get tops seats without paying scalper money. The diehard fans will just be happy to get good seats, even if we don't tell them where there seats are. 1st row, 15th row, whatever. If they want good seats they'll pay." That my friends is a crock of shit. The only way to stop that machine is to have folks boycott the VIP tix. But guess what? People want those type of seats and they want to go to the show.
  10. Winning a radio contest might be another way.

  12. For me, knowing I have a decent ticket in hand is better than gambling and screwing around trying to get the best ticket. Bird in the hand thing...even if the bird is number 1-15. Know what I mean Vern?
  13. QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 1 2012, 12:23 PM) QUOTE (Snaked @ May 1 2012, 10:08 AM) You are now looking at paying a premium of $80 for a guaranteed seat in the first 15 rows... Exactly. The value add that people are ignoring is that guarantee. There are a finite number of seats on the floor. Some of them are VIP seats, some are fan club presale seats, some are Citi seats, some are platinum whatevers, and some are "other" (radio station contests, things like that). Each ticket type or vendor has a certain number of tickets to sell. With NO other kind of ticket are you guaranteed any specific seat in any row - or that you'll even get a ticket at all. People hammered away at the fan club presales and couldn't get floor. People have tried Citi and been unhappy with their luck. But nobody that has bought a VIP package will be further back than row 15. You might not know the exact seat, but you know you're in that primo first section somewhere. It's guaranteed. That is what you're plunking down +$80 for. I agree it would be better if you could choose your VIP seats. I'm not arguing that... but there are some people 'round here that are acting like these companies are stabbing their mothers and impugning their sister's honor. It's not *that* bad. Yup - well stated!
  14. And a darn good thread at athat......
  15. But as you said, it is not crap for those who have not had the experience before. Furthermore it does not seem like crap for those selling them cos they selling like hot-cakes. Life goes on...enjoy the show.
  16. QUOTE (Snaked @ Apr 30 2012, 12:12 PM) QUOTE (drgrendel @ Apr 30 2012, 12:04 PM) BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luck finally hit this ol' boy!!!!!!!!! what'cha git and for what show? Sec 2 Row 4 Pittsburgh, PA So for my two Rush shows this year I have 3rd and 4th rows
  17. BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luck finally hit this ol' boy!!!!!!!!!
  18. I love Signals and it would be really cool if they played all of it. Countdown would be awesome to see/hear live again.
  19. Just scored 3rd row for Buffalo. Now there is a surprise!
  20. I am sure that the awareness is there. Rest assured, the awareness that the packages are selling like "hotcakes" is present as well. In a capitalistic society, the green speaks the loudest.
  21. Given the fact that these VIP packages are selling out all over the place, the arguement against the policy seems rather weak (from the standpoint of those selling them). If, on the other hand, people were not buying them, the issue would be different. Good luck with the petition.
  22. Yeah....15th row sucks... If you ever had the seats I have had for concerts you would probably cover your head in shame....lol Its all good - fan to a fan - just don't judge. It amazes me to watch the amount of people who buy lottery tickets knowing full well that the odds of winning are very bad. I am wondering if I went up to one them and offered the following, "You give me that $20.00 and I will give you $5.00 in return," how silly they would think of me. Hmmmmmmm.....
  23. I took offense to the labelling - the "no self-respecting" portion. It really does not matter to me where in the first 15 the tickets are - knowing that I have tickets and I can get very decent ones without all the jumping around and going through hoops is worth it. Additionally, the swag is pretty cool as well. At the same time, I applaud those that can score very close seats via multiple computers and having patience. We all wear different colors and have differing lives, the use of that label was not necessary and it was quite condescending. Indeed not knowing for many is awful, but please do not judge those who only care about attending and will use whatever means available to be there.
