  1. QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 4 2012, 06:38 PM) I guess sometimes when they have lines like "sometimes the truth is contrary", yeah that doesnt really pull at my heart strings. But, "no hero in your tragedy, no daring in your escape, dont turn your back and slam the door on me, etc..", is far more touching and emotional to me. +1
  2. Now that would be interesting to read...
  3. For me it is better that VT and T4E and that is about it.
  4. More like "Junk." RS is going to have a field day reviewing this.
  5. Options were limited for those who may not purchase. I may not purchase - it will depend upon how well some of the new tracks come across live on 9/11 in Pittsburgh. The last Rush cd I purchased was Counterparts.
  6. True...only $12 but would rather spend it on something worth listening to over and over rather than something that only deserves one play. Know what I mean?
  7. Waiting to hear new songs live (9/11) before deciding whether or not CA deserves a purchase. Until then.......
  8. Before the Blossom Show for the R30 Tour I did the greet with fans thing and scored 5th row for face value from a couple who happened upon front row the day of the show. It was awesome!
  9. +1 Have watched folks sit through AC/DC concerts...Unless of course the Diet Pepsi I was drinking had me all fudged up.....
  10. QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ May 31 2012, 04:28 PM) Hey dood! Was just explaining to the peeps here that only a whiny little panty-waist should ever complain and ask people to sit down at a Rush show. Can you believe this is apparently of debate? Well if one wishes to sling such terms around then I guess a debate is appropriate. Wonder what reaction one might receive if such a term was used at an actual show to someone physically superior to another. I shudder at the possibilities. Then again, it is safer slinging terms on the computer anonymously with such big muscles to back oneself up.
  11. There is no reason why anyone on either side of this debate needs to be rude. I have attended a billion concerts since 1981; everything from Ozzfests to Chicago to Molly Hatchet to Slayer. In all the shows that I have been attended, I have had more issues with Rush fans than any other fans (I have heard others say the same thing over the years). From seat stealing (actually argue with you that they have the right to be in that seat even if you are holding the right ticket - out of 20+ Rush shows - 17 times it has happened to me personally)to move out of my way I can crunch next to you cos my buddy is here and I have a crappy seat, to stealing your shirt or tour program to I can throw my beer all over everyone cos Limelight is like the sickest tune of all time... I avoided two tours in the 90's (RTB and Presto) because I was really sick of the crap. I attended other concerts during that time period and encounterd not one problem. From my experience, Iron Maiden fans seem to be the most considerate of the people around them; and face it folks, Maiden music is more of the jump around and let out your energy than Rush stuff. I am looking forward to the Maiden show in Buffalo more than I am in seeing Rush in Buffalo. Check out the Maiden Forums...anyone see this crap there? Just an observation of 30+ years of concert going

QUOTE (metaldad @ May 30 2012, 09:25 AM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ May 29 2012, 06:54 PM) QUOTE (metaldad @ May 29 2012, 06:45 PM) QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ May 29 2012, 05:43 PM) Personally, I enjoy sitting down, relaxing, and taking in the music, rather than jumping around and flailing my arms like an asshole. Thank You MD?? Really? I'm shocked! You're METALdad afterall... I think you have it wrong . I agree with the others here that say "Go with the flow" That is what i have always done. Do you think i Sit during Slayer ? Hell no. I cannot take those people that when their wife lets them out of the house once a year , they think it's Prom Night all over agian . The same guy that is the Only one standing in a section of 300 people just so he can be seen , always looking over his shoulder to see if We are watching him act like an ass. I see this at almost Every show i go to and i have been going to shows since 1980 . Some bands, people Never sit down so i stand , no biggie . When the 40yr Prom Night guy is doing Leg Splits and Banging his head on his chair during Closer To The Heart , he needs a slap . +1 I attend about 5-10 concerts per year. One thing I learned: I do not have the right to do what I want to do if it means offending a number of other people in the process. Guess my parents brought me up right.
  13. QUOTE (hughes&kettner @ May 29 2012, 11:28 PM) QUOTE (drgrendel @ May 29 2012, 05:02 PM) I checked outside because that is where I will be - far away from technology and this Rush effort. Probably will wait to the Pittsburgh show to hear anything from CA. Just not that into it... Not into the 3 tracks so far? Or new rush in general? Trying to understand your reluctance.... I like the three new tracks well enough but for some reason I cannot get excited about this. I will wait until Septemebr to hear the new tracks live.

Waiting for a reviewer to say it completely sucks. That might be left to a Rolling Stone dweeb. In all seriousness, these glowing reviews sacre me a bit...
  16. If Rush did the string thing I would gladly sell off my 2nd and 3rd row (Buffalo and Pittsburgh) seats and go see 2 additional Iron Maiden shows.
  17. Not enough stars in the world to give you for that awesome display of humanity!
  18. I pray nightly that they completely forget about playing any tracks from VT! That effort reminds me of Springsteens Born in the USA album - gawd awful. Having said that, Available Light and The Big Wheel would be nice to hear.
  19. Yes.....plenty of times. As one other poster suggested on another forum, have a ticket as a back-up just in case this method fails to provide a "premium seat." In other words, it is not 100%, but it does happen (in my case 15/17 times I have tried it).
  20. QUOTE (dakota2112 @ May 17 2012, 03:41 PM) To the original poster... just remember, there are always two sides to every coin. I'm a working stiff, and I put in a lot of hours. I have a busy, complicated life, and I don't have TIME to go camp overnight to get tickets, or to show up 8 hours or the night before at the venue doorstep hoping for a good spot by the stage. The only chance I have for good tickets is to pony up the dough. Everything has to come down to either time, or money. I'm not rolling around in the cash, but I probably have less free time than I have money. Just sayin' +1
  21. QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 17 2012, 01:42 PM) QUOTE (drgrendel @ May 17 2012, 10:14 AM) Plus, since it's an evening with Rush and they have a high prodution show, so it costs them a lot of money every night to play. That also helps to drive up the prices. So they know how much the production will be before they put it together? The people that organize these massive rock tours have decades of experience. They can probably tell you within 5-10% how much a tour will cost before a single dollar is spent. Got ya! Guess everything is down to a science now.

  23. A few years ago, I attended an Iron Maiden show with seats located center section right behing the pit area. As the shed sills-up, this guy takes a seat next to me and we strike up a conversation. As it turned out, that particular show was his 58th Iron Maiden gig. The lights go down and the intro filols the shed, as everyone rises and begins to go crazy, the guy simply sits there with a huge smile on his face. He remains in this state for 2+ hours. After the final waves of the band are made, the house lights go up, he stands nd turns to me and says "That was the most enjoyable Maiden show yet." People enjoy events in many ways. Similarly, not everyone shows grief in the same way. Just because I do not howl and wail when someone close to me dies I am not sad? However, it does show some class when one respects what the majority of the people around them are doing.
