  1. Unless Neil cut off complete contact with Geddy and Alex, the both of them absolutely did know. This would have also meant that Neil's wife and daughter would have not been in communication with either of them as well. Drummer Mike Portnoy mentioned on social media yesterday after the news broke that he was aware of Neil's health issues. If he knew there is no way Geddy and Alex didn't. When I first heard this news only a few sites were reporting, one being a music site that stated there had been rumors in the music sphere for some time that Neil had cancer. They remained quiet rumors and no one really spilled the beans to the public, which means something in today's world. I recall a post, here I believe, a while back in which someone said they heard something about Neil that they really hoped was not true. I am assuming this was it. Then there was a photo in which he looked quite thin, and no new writings from him. My husband and I surmised he probably was ill, so this isn't a huge shock to us. But props to all those people who knew something, and kept it quiet for so long, as privacy was so important to him.
  2. If it turns out he was wrong about an afterlife here's hoping the Rush fans up there aren't bugging him too much. :musicnote: RIP, farewell to a rare talent and a guy who truly endured.
  3. No one knows what will happen in the future, there is no harm in speculating. The opinion that it might not be over indicates nothing other than being open to a possibility. It does not represent fear or some kind of pathology, as some seem to think. It is reasonable to be open to possibilities, I've learned many things don't go the way that seems obvious or likely. Crazy things can happen, even as we get older, you just never know.
  4. Eat your peas, there are starving children in China, son. Used to walk ten miles to school in six feet of snow in patent leather shoes. Thanks to Rush you got it good son so let it just be the provided and predecided opinion that Rush can do whatever dern well they please and you got no gad-dern right to complain or speculate about it, boyz 'n girlz. :codger:
  5. I don't think I've posted here before but just want to report that as of June 23, 2015, based on objective observations using the naked eye from side stage, backed up by Nikon zoom lens binoculars, Geddy is still hot.
  6. Jacob's Ladder was mesmerizing. In the Boston area there were severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings all afternoon and evening. A few hours before the show a quick and nasty thunderstorm hit and lightning struck a tree near my home. Soon after, the storm was over, the sun came out through the storm clouds and there was a beautiful Jacob's ladder effect in the sky. I haven't seen that in ages. I talked to a few people at the show who saw it too. So cool, weird, amazing. JL and the Camera Eye were highlights. I'm so glad we are getting these shows, was hoping Clockwork Angels tour wouldn't be it, didn't get into that so much.
  7. The feel of the show was different from any recent tours I've attended. Second set I actually felt like it was the era of the songs being played. Might have helped that a few long hair hippie stoners were sitting next to us smoking something. Loved the slowly stripped down set and the lasers. The fans were feelin it so much and everyone was being so cool, I have not experienced that at any concert in a while. Got a bunch of high fives for no reason except that people were so into the music together. Even saw fewer cell phones in the air than usual, as people were so engrossed in actually watching the show. It was surreal to me, felt authentic more than just nostalgic. If this is the end it's a great way to go out.
  8. Impossible to get two seats together Ticketmaster at this point, gone as soon as they appear. Was just able to score single seats one row apart, loge next to stage Ged, my SO is not happy seats are not together but Karena is stoked to be going after all. Maybe someone will switch and we can sit together, need happy SO to be driving in and out of Boston.
  9. Last two tours I saw few kids there. Mostly fortysomething guys but a good range from twenties to sixty. Saw one vicious fight, a few scuffles, girls screaming threats at other girls, some parking lot incidents. Smelled weed at both, and drunks. A woman fell down drunk near the bathroom. I must have missed the family atmosphere.
  10. This is exponentially worse than the last couple of tours. Pre-sale and general sale, nothing. Prices in the stratosphere. TM keeps pushing resale tiks - there are nothing but crap seats being released. First tickets that come up at 10 am were in the back of the balcony, and not much better since.
  11. Yessss! Husbands and boyfriends too. There was some rock star wives show that was just bizarre. Nowadays many of them date/marry famous women anyway, like its a big media thing. Oh noes, Avril Lavigne and Nickelback guy are having problems! Check TMZ!
  12. Wives and girlfriends of musicians need to be quiet and stay in the background. They open their mouths and ruin things, so quiet is good.
  13. I am childfree. I grew up knowing childfree people and my partner's family also has childfree members. So I grew up not thinking anything of it and it has never been an issue. It has nothing to do with dysfunction or not thinking I'd be good at it. I am not selfish and give up a lot of my time and resources for others so it isn't that. I just never wanted kids, like many other people I know. I don't really get why it's an issue at all.?
  14. I don't believe in fan competition. I don't care who sits or why. My objection is people approaching other fans and asking them to sit, stop dancing or switch to a worse seat. :boo hiss:
