    fun questions to ask

it occurred to me while listening to a fans recording of the Grace Under Pressure Tour that if you could sit and chat in a relaxed situation with the band what sort of fun questions would you ask the band. For Geddy I would ask him, if when it comes to a part in song that he's singing where he knows that it will be repeated back by an echo does he put more effort in to ensure it is in tune. I would imagine that if he hit a bum note and then had to hear it echoed back again and again till fade would be disconcerting. I guess same question for them all. To have your mistake repeated back to you while trying to carry on hee hee all your band mates while being professional giving you that little knowing look and glad that it ain't them. Oh well this is my daft post for the year.
  6. 'As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky' I don't see there is an issue I can handle Ged's vox easily. We have assumed control, we have assumed control. Yeah no problem here. :eyeroll:
  7. I can relate to all the songs on this particular album it is the beauty of Rush and Neil's skills as a writer. We are the most spoilt fans in the world.
  8. An unexpected side effect for me. I just couldn't dig VP no matter how hard I tried. But felt that clockwork angels reminded me of it and maybe how VP should have been in someways. So decided to give VP a spin for comparison and have discovered I actually like it now. Good old some sorta reverse Psychology going on ha ha.

    Holy Smoke

Got it this Morning and already getting it which is a rarity with me and new Rush. I think the release of BU2B, Caravan and finally Headlong helped. I am loving this feels like the old days when I first got into them. just love em

    Purchased at Retail!

Got my fan pack this morning and I was piss#d that the rest of the world seemed to be getting theirs before us Brits. Don't know if you have got yours yet Rush Goober but be patient it is well worth the wait and the piss#d off-ness goes away with the opening chords

But you still sound American... But I type with a German accent. You, sir. Deserve epic post of the year. And I got my Fan Pack yesterday. It WAS like Christmas time for me! You'll get yours eventually! Do not worry. The wait is completely worth while. It's a fantastic moment for almost every Rush fan. thanks I got mine this morning a pig in sh#t springs to mind. Love it the whole package thing was a great idea. made the whole thing even more special. listening to Halo Effect at d'mo third time around today. Can see it becoming my fav Rush album at least for the foreseeable future. As i said in another post we are the luckiest fans in the world.
  12. Yah mine came this morning and knocked my socks off cheered me up no end and love the classic Rock Mag cover to cover I love that they have finally moved firmly into the spot light the rest of the world is in for treat. I have always had to work/listen intently to new albums to get it but I think releasing BU2B, Caravan and Headlong have helped along with the samples and I must confess I did listen to a leaked version of 2/3rds of the album a couple of days ago. on my third whole play and it already sounds like a timeless classic. We are the luckiest fans to have ever existed.
  13. thank you There is a God I guess and if I die in my sleep at least I heard it
  14. QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Jun 7 2012, 09:19 AM) QUOTE (BU4B @ Jun 7 2012, 06:05 AM) It can't be right that people from the rest of the world can order and attend things in the UK and have priority over the natives. Anyone from anywhere can buy tickets to a concert. It's called capitalism. What makes you think YOU have priority? Just because you live closer to the venue? Give me a break. Actually yes, I do think because the venue is in the Country I live in that I should be able to buy tickets that aren't seats located at the back of the venue because all the good seats were sent abroad Oh I see what you did Leave me alone let me rant in peace
  15. Neil wouldn't do that would he?
  16. I'm reading about people in America, Canada, Germany etc all getting the fan packs. Mine was ordered the day it was announced and despite living in the UK I am still waiting while reading about the rest of the world listening to the new album. I go to concerts in the UK and if I'm lucky enough to get tickets for the first few front rows I find I am surrounded by American and Canadian accents. There is definitely something wrong with this picture. It can't be right that people from the rest of the world can order and attend things in the UK and have priority over the natives. Just saying.... Well have you all got the new album?
  17. said before in another post My Favourite Headache and Vapour Trails done right or how it was suppose to sound. in particular the last song the opening vocal melody line is directly taken from MFH.
  18. Same here order back in April in the UK through Classic rock Mag. Girlfriend did it as birthday pressie for me. Not heard a thing, was under the impression it would be the 11th and that was the only advantage to ordering early. It'll come I'm sure and if it is even earlier than expected then
  19. QUOTE (Rush-O-Matic @ Jun 6 2012, 03:17 PM) You would think that there would be more to the "bonus content," but I haven't heard anybody with the fan pack comment on that. Could be that it will expand on release day. However, this interview here was clearly done at the same time. The setting is the same, and Geddy is wearing the same thing. He references meeting Pete Townshend at the Governor's Award thingy. So, obviously that part wasn't filmed during the recording of CA. Aside: That little Clockwork-compass-globe-whatever-you-call-it thing next to Geddy is cool. I saw a mini one of those at Hobby Lobby the other day. I may have to get one to go with my CA clock. I love Tai Shan great interview thanks for the links Rush O Matic these are really up-to-date. I come from an era of Rush where I waited ten years to even see video footage. The internet changed all that I guess there was a mystique back then but it is great to see the bands personality shine through and oddly they are how I used to imagine them to be
  20. well done, it certainly makes for an interesting look at what we can expect still not getting BU2B2 don't like the effect on the whole song lol but it will probably end up being my favourite track on the album. Such is the nature of Rush and their songs. Although Vapour Trails is still my least favourite of their albums never really grew on me. I am loving what we have had so far with this album BU2B, Caravan and now Headlong have become my favourite rush material to listen to at the moment.
  21. sounds like a great album has got a vapour trail feel to it. perhaps what VP was suppose to be like. The only one that has weirded me out is BU2B2 not sure about that from what I've heard.

  24. http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/rus...542931/1#!1 I can't wait I just know it will be an amazing experience, another journey with Rush. I hope they keep writing till neil stares with glassy eyes and ged and alex slow their frantic pace. We are privileged fans of the finest band to have ever existed.
  25. I was impressed guys good version and shows the versatility of Rush songs I think generations from now will do this a lot with the back catalogue. Much Kudos to you both.
