The Canon 40D is a tad more high end than the Nikon D40, but I got where you were going with that I sold my D90 and picked up a Olympus Pen (yeah, I know how far apart they are) but am enjoying the Pen great deal for the moment. I might even take it to the MGM in August

Could be! 'Lerxt and the Monotones presents: MY FAVORITE RUSH!' On the other hand, NOBODY can predict the future and I'm reading way too many 'next year' or 'next tour' posts. Anything can happen, but in the twilight of ones life we are all presented with various curveballs. I work in a hospital and unfortunately see many curveballs When I went overboard in buying really, REALLY close seats, it was with the intention that I may never see them again. You just never know when they will hang it up as a '3'. They don't need to tour, but it is nice to know that they are enjoying it for the moment. I'm just sayin', too many people throw stock in them playing every year or two for decades to come. They are approaching their 40th year AS A BAND. Bless them for still doing what they love....and being ABLE to. Although, if any of them came one here (or other fan sites) and read the boo-birds posts with varying degrees of negativity ("weak" "sucks" "terrible" etc), maybe they will decide to give us a biiig break! Just remember guys, there are plenty of us that love anything you play and any setlist that includes RUSH is a good setlist by me. This is the Time Maching Tour, not the Jukebox Tour where disgruntled 'fans' demand their favorite song be played or else they'll bash you. soooooo, flame away if you like

Part of the 'VIP' package is 'the chance to win' a meet and greet. This my friends, will be the BEST chance I have ever had to do this. I hope I win, I don't have expectations of sitting and having coffee with them or even saying more than 'THANKS GUYS'. That suprises me about the autographs....even if you are lucky enough to win a coveted 'meet and greet' spot, NO AUTOGRAPHS? Not even pre-signed press lit 8x10's? One of the few musicians I had the opportunity to meet and get a signed poster was George Lynch. He was holding his first ever guitar clinic in North America. He played, answered questions, and had all of his famous guitars on display (even gave one away to one lucky ticketholder!) The autograph line forms, I was about 10th in line. Leave it to the first few people to frig it up for the rest of us, after signing several guitars and numerous posters for 1-3, they limited everybody else to one. Which was cool. Thats all I wanted. ESP guitars even provided a big color poster to get signed. Good Lord.....let me win....pleeeeze......

That part in 'I Love You Man' where he is 'introducing' Rush to his girlfriend and Limelight starts.... Would be a perfect intro to that song!

Also, with the Camera Eye (even abbreviated) is one of the longer ones ....but I'd LOVE to have them do Hemispheres, 2112 AND Camera Eye.

I caught a couple JRNY shows, even saw Steve Perry solo. Yeah, I guess looking at it that way (them almost getting an exact copy of their singer) it is a new dog=old tricks. Glad to see Schon doing something....What did you think about HSAS? Being a Hagar fan (not van hager), I liked that one off project.

Maybe do a song from each album up to MP, then rip into MP beginning to end.....then uncork a couple new songs, then a song from each album after MP, encore with the usual 'hits'. Of course I'd like this to be the 'Fans' tour, maybe do some offbeat (but good) songs that the fans enjoy, but didn't get much attention to the general listener..... I don't know, I was trying to stay away from set list posts I'm just really happy to have great seats at an INDOOR venue, especially after missing the past 3 tours! They can go up and play a cover of Cracklin Rosy for all I care..... But seriously.....I'd love for them to come out and hammer us with a intro song that just obliterates the fans...something uncommon for an intro.....like La Villa.....yesssssssssssss Think about it....the place goes dark...the roar of the crowd.....Al's guitar starts with a low growl and rips into that song. I like the whole idea about a time machine contraption onstage. They play a bit of misc stuff, then go thru it for a quick intermission....to come out dressed in Exit....Stage Left outfits they wore in the film (alex in his sharp red blazer, etc) and start in on MP. Yesssssss.

I wasn't given a choice with the VIP deal. It was will call only which pretty much locks me in. I didn't buy these awesome seats to resell them BUT if something came up it would be nice to have the option to get something out of them instead of just eating the $$. What has been the experience of TRF members that bought VIP packages in the past? They DO make good on all the extras, right?

Surely there can be a way to distribute tix to true fans. The fan club pre-sale has good intentions....but some 'fans' buy multiple tix to sell. In order for it to be almost foolproof, make all pre-sale ticket sales to 'fans' for will call pick-up at the place of event on the day of show only. Back in the day, if you liked a band, you'd camp out for days to get a shot at the 1st few rows.....then came ticketmaster with multiple outlets in the same city. Still, you'd camp out for days and hope to get within the first 20 rows the first 45 seconds the tix went on sale.....then came ticketmaster ONLINE sales where any Tom, Dick, or Harry (in ANY part of the world) could be positioned in front of their computer with their pajamas on and compete for seats when they went on sale. These days, computer programs manipulate ticketmasters online ordering----snagging premium seats for multiple venues across the world-and they put them up for sale the same day. If people stop patronizing scalpers, believe me they will go away. But as long as there is money to be made, unscrupulous folks will find an edge. Go to your venue the night of any major show and see how many hacks are trying to unload all those tix they are about to be stuck with. Instead of buying tickets to a popular MX race in vegas, I went down there and got 2 great seats for over half of face value. They'd rather get SOMETHING for them in the 11th hour! Jerks!

I was just talking to my girlfriend about this tonight. I was going to buy a Nikon CoolPix since they are thin and compact and smuggle it in. Seems kind of pointless to try and record a Rush show or video it since we are awarded a nice polished DVD and CD for every tour nowadays. I am sitting close enough for some decent shots.....any ideas? Do you think they do metal detectors at the MGM Grand?

Muse is a breath of fresh air amidst the 'music' being shoved down our throats these days. From what I have seen on TV, their stage show is amazing!

A quick question first. Does anyone have a file with the p/g script from the Grace Under Pressure album? I have tried to enlarge the one off the CD without success and the one on the back of my tour shirt is faded and stretched....I don't trust the tattoo guys here to freehand it So lets see your Rush inspired tattoos!

After missing the past 3 tours for lifes little curveballs, I didn't even heaitate to toss over 750 for 2 tix to the Vegas show. I deserve it. So to my ex-wife, I say SCREW YOU I'M GOING. To my ex-boss who wouldn't let me off work to go, I say SCREW YOU, I'M GOING. To unemployment that dogged me for the 30th tour, I say SCREW YOU, I'M GOING. I am at a great place in life right now and the timing couldn't be better! I love visiting vegas, so this will be a great time, no matter what!!
