  1. Including fees/taxes, paid close to $90 apiece for row 24, floor, just left of center. Bought 'em through presale. Best seats for a Rush show I've ever had.
  2. You have to begin college with the end in mind. What do you want to do after college, and do you need that particular degree to get there? Will that job pay for your college debts? College is mandatory for some professions (engineering, architecture, medicine, law, teaching, accounting). Do music as your sideline, and do something else that will pay the bills. Just a suggestion.
  3. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Sep 11 2010, 07:01 PM)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakes_%26_Arrows_Tour Scroll down on this page and there's some attendence and money grossing figures for the first leg of the S&A tour. Some of the attendence doesn't look too good but keep in mind most of these venues capacity are in the general admission lawn. So at least Rush is selling out most of the reserved seats. Haven't seen any attendance figures for the current Time Machine tour.
  4. Finally cooled down enough to open windows! First time in at least a month!
  5. I got a kick out of Geddy filming the crowd on the S&A tour, having them say "Hello Canada!" It's cool when Ged talks with the crowd. I hope he does some of that this time.
  6. QUOTE (tick @ Aug 7 2010, 08:30 AM) QUOTE (Lerxst @ Jun 19 2010, 10:36 AM) My wife & I will be sending our only child off to college in a couple months and we are already sad about it. When it actually happens it will be even worse. How can I help my wife cope with this? Rejoice in the fact you raised a good kid and be happy knowing he is moving in the right direction. Think about how awful it would be to have a kid with no drive or ambition wanting to cling to his parents forever. It happens. You will be sad, but knowing his is formulating a future should give you solace and a comfort. Its better then the alternative. Whenever your bummed out, keep that in perspective, and it may help you out a bit. Thanks very much for the thoughtful response.

Actually we are going to see Rush on Aug. 25.
  8. I doubt very much that this guy can match the financial/legal resources of Rush or LiveNation. So as much as some may want LiveNation to be cut down to size, it just ain't gonna happen. The problem is he wants his money back RIGHT NOW and that isn't going to happen either. Have a little patience and he'll either get a refund or the opportunity to sell his tix to someone else. Consider the "out of pocket" losses to be a lesson learned.
  9. I've attended two Rush concerts at outdoor venues. After dealing with rain, heat, humidity, etc., I am thankful that this year I can see them at an indoor facility. Is it just me, or does Rush seem to prefer outdoor venues? Is it because of acoustics? Are outdoor venues more profitable?
  10. Just wondering if there is a meet & greet contest for every stop on the Rush tour. Are those contests usually sponsored by radio stations? Winning one would be the coolest thing EVER.

  13. QUOTE (Natch @ Mar 3 2010, 02:26 PM)I'm in the banking industry....Wall Street type of stuff. And no, I didn't cause the current economic depression. It was the guy sitting next to me Do us a favor, would you? Reach over to that guy sitting next to you and punch his lights out.
  14. Just wondering how many folks on this board will be at Qwest Center Omaha on Aug. 25. And if you're coming to that show, are you an Omahan or coming in from somewhere else? (I live in Omaha.)
  15. I ended up with row 24 main floor on the Citi presale. Which is OK because it's significantly closer than I've been able to get for any previous Rush concert. If Dante's Inferno was updated for modern times, a circle of Hell would be reserved for ticket brokers and the souls at TicketBastard.
