  1. I was actually at this show and tbf Mustaine had a point. The bloke doing the heckling was an absolute idiot who couldn't take his ale & was pissing everyone off around him. He got what he deserved all things being equal. And this is the most important point. Mustaine absolutely DID NOT have the kid thrown out. He was there right until the lights came up at the end. The part about him being ejected is an outright lie. Mustaine annoys me too when he shoots his mouth off but if he's going to get bashed then let it be for the truth, not just some half-baked rumour being passed around the 'net. Good to see the mob jumping straight in on this when they weren't even there. Megadeth were excellent if anyone cares. And they actually mixed the setlist up quite a bit for once. All in all a good night out.
  2. Yeah, the 1975 album is stellar. Back to Rumours, isn't Silver Springs just gorgeous? The live disc is soopoib too. Too true. I had Silver Springs on a previous reissue already, but the concert is great, a superb band at the height of their powers. I am often critical of reissues of great albums, as I feel that they can get overburdened by substandard extras which detract from the impact of the original release. However, the latest Rumours package actually improves upon perfection imo.
  3. I actually prefer the first Buckingham/Nicks Mac album to Rumours. World Turning, Crystal, I'm So Afraid, Rhiannon.....wow, that thing is amazing. Mind you, Rumours ain't too shabby either. Gold Dust Woman is worth the price of admission alone. And the addition of Silver Springs as well, it's actually even better now.
  4. Can't get any for Dublin either. And Lindsey cancelled his Dublin show 2 years ago. I'm cursed. LB cancelled that whole Seeds We Sow tour. I had tix for Leeds. Gutted.
  5. Def Leppard's last good album, before they morphed into the anodyne abomination they now are. BIB is justifyably a R&R classic, so just edges it imo.
  6. Could be that Tate is actually verging on mental illness. His behaviour is inexplicable. I actually feel a bit sorry for him in a way.
  7. Absolutely. His solo albums "Gift Of Screws" & "Seeds We Sow" are excellent. The song "Bel Air Rain" off "GOS" is truly amazing. The first 2 albums he did with the 'Mac are classics too.
  8. I'm going to see Megadeth next week. I haven't heard the new album yet, but the couple of songs I have heard are poor. I do love 'Deth though & am looking forward to the gig.
  9. I have Schenker down as an underrated player. When you see a guy like Vinnie Moore who is a real technical kind of player struggle in UFO it makes you appreciate how good Schenker really is.
  10. His stuff can be tricky to play. He does some mental bends & his phrasing & articulation is quite "jazzy". He also mixes up modes in quite a surreal way too. It could be why he is cited quite frequently as an influence. Also the fact that he was part of one of the greatest rock bands of all time doesn't do his rep any harm either! Killer tone as well.
  11. Great call. I would give Stranger In This Town to anyone starting to learn rock guitar & tell them to study it. It is a masterclass in pentatonic soloing. I learnt that record note for note. Some really tasteful playing on that.
  12. 1. Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World. 2. Bowie - Low. 3. Heart - Little Queen. 4. Heart - Dog & Butterfly. 5. Blue Oyster Cult - Cultosaurus Erectus. 6. Blue Oyster Cult - Mirrors. 7. Diamond Head - White Label Promo. 8. Y&T - Earthshaker. 9. Judas Priest - Killing Machine. 10. Scorpions - Virgin Killer. 11. U.F.O. - Obsession. 12. Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Mac ( Buckingham/Nicks era). 13. Montrose - Montrose. 14. Starz - Violation. 15. Journey - Evolution. 16. Megadeth - Rust In Peace. 17. Hanoi Rocks - Back To Mystery City. 18. Thin Lizzy - Bad Reputation. 19. Budgie - Power Supply. 20. Kansas - Song For America.
  13. I too was in Block 113 @ Manc & the sound was fine for an arena gig. Put it this way, I've heard plenty worse. Unfortunately it must just come down to where your seats are in the room if the sound passes muster or not.
  14. After seeing Rush last night, Alex Lifeson. The bloke is pathalogically incapable of playing a cliche. Superb.
  15. Good call. Also Dave Meniketti, Tuck Andress, George Benson, Buck Dharma & Nancy Wilson.
  16. Interesting one this. If I was pressed, I too might say Richie is overrated, even though I like Purple/Rainbow. Depends how contrary a mood I'm in when asked, but I do know what you're getting at.
  17. Got the Room 24 track as a free download off KD's website a few weeks ago. The King rules.
  18. I don't like John Mayer's music at all, but I learnt a few of his songs just recently to try & stretch myself & improve as a player. I learnt Gravity, Waiting on the World to Change, Everyday I have the Blues & Neon. Mayer's touch & technique are great, even if his music isn't. In all honesty, after studying some of his songs & learning them, I would actually say that he is an underrated guitarist. I await the flak!
