  1. I remember when I saw it live, just before it happened, Alex had this big ear-to-ear grin, kinda laughing to himself. I totally didn't see it coming, and it shot my adrenaline through the roof.
  2. I'd like to hear more from Presto. That album doesn't get the love it deserves. And something from P/G would be awesome.
  3. If I heard right, Alex had mentiones it was one of his favorite solos. I think this one would translate perfectly live. It's just got so much energy to it. Everyone's going crazy during the solo. Then again, I'd also like to see Available Light and Countdown live. Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?
  4. Faithless was beautiful. Very very strong song, musically.
  5. I personally loved the light show. It added mood on songs like Vital Signs. The only thing I wish was different about it is that I wish they would have used the lasers again this tour.
  6. I was very put off by how lame the crowd was. We were almost all the way back, and people were telling us to sit down. THat just kinda blew. Though I rocked out none the less. My neck is still sore...
  7. The Trees Emotion Detector
  8. Easily the best bonus feature on the DVD. Those guys are a freaking riot.
  9. How can people be so blinded as to have no value for human life whatsoever? They're cold, heartless. I don't know how that man can call himself human, let alone a man. I feel ashamed to be the same species as people like this.
  10. The outro solo to Dream Theater's The Ministry of Lost Souls is absolutely beautiful. Just dripping with emotion. Shivers, man. Whoever said Petrucci is just a mindless shredder is horribly mistaken.
  11. QUOTE (Ted Barchetta @ Aug 15 2010, 02:13 AM) QUOTE (xXDreamlinerXx @ Aug 14 2010, 08:52 PM)I'm working on the intro to Dream Theater's Never Enough. Whoever said playing bass is easy, I will hunt down and destroy with my bear, heavily caloused hands. Recently, I've been toying around with the audio program Audacity and recording random stuff. I learned how to make that volume swelled final note in "The Fountain Of Lamneth" by playing a D Chord on Guitar with the Root note in the bass, reversing both tracks and copy/paste them to mirror themselves. It sounds pretty cool. That's pretty sweet, man! I've been toying with Audacity as well. Neat little program, it is. Though it's taking me awhile to completely figure out, I'm not that tech savy

  13. I saw a commercial for Rush Hour 3 on TNT, and the only thing the announcer said was "The more that things change, the more they stay the same"
  14. Aaaaand now I'm on to Schism by Tool

I ACCIDENTALLY THE WHOLE DISCOGRAPHY. But seriously, the guitar tone in that song is harder to get down than the song proper. So much chorus and delay with just a hint of distortion You just can't have too much distortion with that song. Yeah, I've been trying to get the tone down for quite some time. His tone on that entire album is PERFECT. I'm finding it impossible to get Geddy's tone with just about anything they've done. It's so spot on for everything they do.

  17. Dear ******, I don't want to turn this thread into the place to complain about your ex... but, here we go. For a year of my life, you were a part of me. You were my life. You told me you loved me more than you had ever loved anyone. And I felt like it. You gave me a joy that no one else had ever given me. I didn't want anything else out of life, or any other woman. Then, after ***** killed himself, something changed. You knew him, but you weren't a close friend to him, like I was. You were there for me and you comforted me when it was convienent for you. Telling me not even a week after he died that you weren't happy with us and you wanted to end things-- via text message, no less--devistated me like nothing else could have. You tell me the next morning that you weren't thinking right and you want to get back tofether. Being the sap I am and still desperate for comfort and companionship, I take you back. Still, things weren't the same. You wanted something I couldn't give you, and I'm very glad I didn't. I tell you one night that we should take a break and give us some time to miss each other, making it very clear and evident that we're still dating. And what do you do, not 12 hours later? You're off srewing with one of your ex's that we both work with. Did you ever once consider MY emotions? How I feel? I find it hard to believe so. I accept the fact that you had a bit of a rough childhood, but shit like this is wrong on many levels. I even try to reconnect with you, just to have a casual lunch with me to catch up with each other and talk about what we've been up to. But even on that, you completely blew me off. I let you bullshit me way too many times. YOU are the reason for all the emotional baggage and instability I've had to bear for the last 4 months, and to this day you will likely deny it. I'm f**king done with this, and I'm done with you. I've got better things to do than mope around about this shit. Richard.
  18. Well, talk Frankie!

  20. Echoes?? Props, man! That's gotta be one of my faveorite Floyd songs. Good luck to ya on that one...

  22. Wow, time flies.

Kind of a John Myung style thing. Hoping it'll turn out well when I get it down right. That's wicked awesome dude! very inventive! I play the keyboard solos to The Trees and Circumstances on bass when ever I play along with the songs. It comes out sounding pretty cool. Thanks man! I'm hoping I'll be able to make it sound right. I enjoy coming up with weird stuff like that. And that's pretty cool! I've seen that done once or twice, sweet stuff. It would seem that we are players of the same relative calibur. Totally! I respect any one who can tap nearly as well as John Myung, he's a beast. The best tapping I can pull off (Heehee) is Steve Hackett style Always a pleasure to meat a fellow bass player! Heh, I'm far from Myung... Like, I can do the Metropolis pt. 1 solo at about 1/2 speed. But I try to model my style mainly after him and Lee. It keeps me on my toes while practicing haha. (lol pulloff)
