  1. I remember when I saw it live, just before it happened, Alex had this big ear-to-ear grin, kinda laughing to himself. I totally didn't see it coming, and it shot my adrenaline through the roof.
  2. I'd like to hear more from Presto. That album doesn't get the love it deserves. And something from P/G would be awesome.
  3. If I heard right, Alex had mentiones it was one of his favorite solos. I think this one would translate perfectly live. It's just got so much energy to it. Everyone's going crazy during the solo. Then again, I'd also like to see Available Light and Countdown live. Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?
  4. Faithless was beautiful. Very very strong song, musically.
  5. I personally loved the light show. It added mood on songs like Vital Signs. The only thing I wish was different about it is that I wish they would have used the lasers again this tour.
  6. I was very put off by how lame the crowd was. We were almost all the way back, and people were telling us to sit down. THat just kinda blew. Though I rocked out none the less. My neck is still sore...
  7. Easily the best bonus feature on the DVD. Those guys are a freaking riot.
  8. The outro solo to Dream Theater's The Ministry of Lost Souls is absolutely beautiful. Just dripping with emotion. Shivers, man. Whoever said Petrucci is just a mindless shredder is horribly mistaken.
  9. I saw a commercial for Rush Hour 3 on TNT, and the only thing the announcer said was "The more that things change, the more they stay the same"
  10. Dear ******, I don't want to turn this thread into the place to complain about your ex... but, here we go. For a year of my life, you were a part of me. You were my life. You told me you loved me more than you had ever loved anyone. And I felt like it. You gave me a joy that no one else had ever given me. I didn't want anything else out of life, or any other woman. Then, after ***** killed himself, something changed. You knew him, but you weren't a close friend to him, like I was. You were there for me and you comforted me when it was convienent for you. Telling me not even a week after he died that you weren't happy with us and you wanted to end things-- via text message, no less--devistated me like nothing else could have. You tell me the next morning that you weren't thinking right and you want to get back tofether. Being the sap I am and still desperate for comfort and companionship, I take you back. Still, things weren't the same. You wanted something I couldn't give you, and I'm very glad I didn't. I tell you one night that we should take a break and give us some time to miss each other, making it very clear and evident that we're still dating. And what do you do, not 12 hours later? You're off srewing with one of your ex's that we both work with. Did you ever once consider MY emotions? How I feel? I find it hard to believe so. I accept the fact that you had a bit of a rough childhood, but shit like this is wrong on many levels. I even try to reconnect with you, just to have a casual lunch with me to catch up with each other and talk about what we've been up to. But even on that, you completely blew me off. I let you bullshit me way too many times. YOU are the reason for all the emotional baggage and instability I've had to bear for the last 4 months, and to this day you will likely deny it. I'm f**king done with this, and I'm done with you. I've got better things to do than mope around about this shit. Richard.
  11. Well, talk Frankie!
  12. 14. Mystic Rhythms. Something about how the drums just groove, Geddy does that cool little bass run, then the synths come in perfectly. It seriously just about leaves me in a trance.
  15. QUOTE (proudlyrushian @ May 30 2010, 02:03 PM)QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ May 30 2010, 01:53 AM) QUOTE (xXDreamlinerXx @ May 13 2010, 12:21 AM) When you like the song Time Stands Still And, pray, tell me what is wrong with Time Stand Still? I love it Note the S on the end of "Stand." It shouldn't be there. Haha, don't get me wrong, I adore that song! I was trying to be subtle with that. In a joking way.
  16. QUOTE (Mara @ May 30 2010, 03:03 AM) QUOTE (xXDreamlinerXx @ May 30 2010, 12:29 AM) Available Light, hands down. The song is unmatched in energy and excitement. But I love the entire album. War Paint and Chain Lightning are a close 2nd and 3rd. I'd also like to see The Pass, but it's already had it's time to shine on the VT tour. As mentioned before, my only reservations about Available Light concern Geddy's voice. His voice on this track is absolutely stellar, really incredible stuff. It really is one of his best performances ever, live or recorded, IMO. And I am talking about the whole song, not just the "in the available light" part. I'm not complaining at all - we all get older and, in most cases, voices change. He sounds great now, but I'm not sure he's up to this song - and certainly not many, many repeat performances. I'm not sure I want to see what happens here. I definately see what you're getting at... but he was able to to pull off Freewill for both legs of the S&A tour perfectly. I'm not sure what kind of condition his voice is in as of now, but if it's as good as it was on the previous tour, I'd say he could pull it off. Thing is, if he isn't in as good condition, I don't know if i'd wanna see it live... hmmm...

  18. When you think Rush stands for Royal Ushers in Satan's Household (courtesy of my UTT teacher) When you like the song Time Stands Still When you think Tom Sawyer is about someone tripping on acid
  19. Marathon Open Secrets (I'm a sucker for dive-bombs)
  20. It's in there. Either that or my hearing is completely off. You really gotta listen for it.
