  1. Man, I've heard of lawn, but didn't realize they expanded it to orchard.
  2. QUOTE (USB Connector @ Oct 26 2012, 07:44 PM) QUOTE (hermy @ Oct 26 2012, 08:42 PM) They must have felt the first set needed that shot of familiar adrenaline. I doubt it. They would have taken out Big Money if that were the case. I think they just got bored of the song. They may be bored of the song, but Big Money is pretty familiar - most the of the crowd was singing along on the choruses in DC. TBM seems to be more well-known by casual fans than TBE; not sure though. Maybe they'll just rotate Limelight in every now and then for different songs in each stop. Rush having this much of a non-static (that's dynamic, I guess) set list is pretty new territory for them in recent years. Even if they're not choosing my favorites or leaving out the ones I would, kudos to them for being a little adventurous by their standards.
  3. QUOTE (patjnev @ Oct 9 2012, 04:43 AM) Just wondering if its known that Rush will be using a string section live. at least thats the impression I get . anyone have any other info? I was going to post a "Not Sure If Serious" image, but . . . Okay, I'll bite. I'm going to assume you haven't read any of the multitude of threads and promotional material discussing this. Yes, Rush is touring with a string ensemble, mostly playing on the songs from Clockwork Angels, but a couple others, too. 2 Cellos and 6 violins, and Campbell joins them onstage on occasion.
  4. QUOTE (mazyyz @ Oct 20 2012, 09:57 PM) I wonder if she knows she is being stalked on this forum? Probably, as she has taken to wearing a blonde wig in public now . . . http://imageshack.us/a/img32/7896/strings4.jpg Although, it looks like David Campbell has joined them on stage now, which is partially blocking the view.
  5. Yeah, I'll just chime in, too. I have used StubHub a number of times for buying and use them a lot for selling. I have had one problem in all the times, and StubHub made good on their guarantee. If you're buying tickets to a sporting event or concert, and the tickets are not available via instant download (i.e. they holder of the tickets must send you the hard copy tickets), then StubHub has no idea if the tickets are legit or correct until you get them. The seller sends them via FedEx directly to you. If this is the way they're sent, StubHub requires enough time ahead of the event, so you can verify them. The time I had the problem, the seller was an idiot, and sent me four tickets that were not together. StubHub paid for me to send them back, found me four tickets that were comparable, then sent them to me immediately - all, at no additional cost to me, of course. eBay owns StubHub (and PayPal and 25% of Craigslist) if you didn't know. Because many of the issues they have to work around are last-minute things, and because they take a healthy fee, their customer service is outstanding.
  6. QUOTE (Snaked @ Oct 15 2012, 12:57 PM) zOMG! She was wearing leather pants again in Toronto! She has a leather jacket, too . . .
  7. QUOTE (LedRush @ Oct 15 2012, 09:37 AM) I've heard them on satellite, but never on regular radio. I heard The Wreckers on my local "regular radio" station this past weekend here in Georgia. I was just randomly flipping through presets, and -- screech! Hey, that's new Rush! I am glad they're getting a little play.
  8. QUOTE (rushfanforever! @ Oct 11 2012, 11:29 PM) Talk about skintight leggings!!! Tightest I've ever seen! Attracting the wrong kind of attention if you know what I mean...it's a show, not a show your ass show!!! I think it's disgusting, I'd never wear something that tight and revealing....What happened to the wardrobe police?? Yikes, cover up!.... I hope she never has to use the ladies room! Why? Because she must have to peel herself out of the leggings first! David Lee Roth is saddened by your comments. http://imageshack.us/a/img197/8476/dlrlb.jpg
  9. QUOTE (Everyday Glory @ Oct 11 2012, 12:06 PM) Who is the orchestra touring with RUSH? Where are they from? L-R: Gerry Hilera, Mario De Leon, Adele Stein, Jacob Szekely, Joel Derouin, Audrey Solomon, Jonathan Dinklage, Entcho Tudorov http://imageshack.us/a/img854/4080/ensemblet.jpg I think they are based in Los Angeles, professionally, but they are from all over the world. Ms. Solomon was Miss Alaska, Adele Stein is from Salina, KS, Jacob Szekely is from Brooklyn, NY for instance.
  10. QUOTE (USB Connector @ Oct 9 2012, 04:34 PM) QUOTE (MJH @ Oct 9 2012, 01:32 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp1BAfm5LSM I think this guy has something to say about meet and greets..... Is the whole thing a reference/parody of some famous act . . . ? Yes, Allen Iverson's "famous" practice? rant at a press conference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d29VsG35DQM On the last tour, it seems like they had a special photo page for everyone that was at the Meet n Greet. Are they doing that this year? I don't remember anyone posting a link for that.
  11. QUOTE (MJH @ Oct 3 2012, 12:21 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp1BAfm5LSM Hilarious. For reference . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d29VsG35DQM
  12. QUOTE (Don'tMeetInBars @ Sep 26 2012, 05:26 AM) This guy has some excellent footage from Columbus: http://www.youtube.com/user/RTMorasonMD2 Those are great! Thanks!
  13. QUOTE (bigalfan @ Sep 24 2012, 09:29 AM) QUOTE (willowroolz @ Sep 24 2012, 08:19 AM) Some more from Chicago: Highlights The Spirit of Radio Subdivisions Drum Solo (Where's My Thing) Tom Sawyer / 2112 The Highlights piece is AWESOME!!! Thank you! I felt liked I "lived it all again"!! Yeah, the highlights thing is great! Thanks! (sounds like Geddy sings "invisible feedback" instead of "emotional feedback." LOL)
  14. You mean the one discussed in the two page thread a few below this one you started? http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?show...dpost&p=2757209
  15. QUOTE (brideofskully @ Sep 20 2012, 11:37 AM) I should mention that this particular bass *was* master-built (by a single craftsman). You can kind of blame me if you don't like the colour, since Skully always defers to me for my opinion (hahah); but Fender's Surf Green has a particular quality that almost gives it a 'ghostly' glow depending on the lighting, I think. It looks positively stunning under low lighting, especially. ☠ He did a great job! And, I like how it changes colors with the lighting, so you can pat yourself on the back there. The Chameleon Bass. Welcome to TRF, by the way. I'd say if Geddy chose to prominently play and tour with that baby, it must be alright. I don't know jack about bass guitars, but Geddy has been around them for awhile. QUOTE (trenken @ Sep 20 2012, 11:12 AM)A nice looking 5-string MTD here. I like the design of these a lot more than those Fenders, of course these cost a hell of a lot more than most Fenders though since they are all hand built by Mike Tobias, not built by machines like Fenders are. To me the look of this beauty blows away those Fenders. Would love to see Geddy play something like this, especially since they have that punchy sound he looks for. Yuck. Disagree completely. I think each of Geddy's Fenders looks much better than that thing. I can't really comment on the sound, though. There are professional players and sound guys that would certainly disagree with Geddy's opinion; but, Geddy has certainly displayed the chops to give his own opinion strong credibility. You make it sound like Geddy buys his basses out of a gumball machine.
  16. QUOTE (WavesandWindows @ Sep 20 2012, 06:57 AM) Can somebody please find Red Sector A from Auburn Hills where they do the new intro.... Please don't kill me but SPOILER ALERT: It is a new Reggae intro like Working Man.... Another good song down the tubes? They did not do a "new intro" when they played RSA in DC. RSA was played right after Neil's 3rd solo that featured all electronic drums, but the song was true to the album version. (Although, the whole of GuP itself is kinda reggae-y . . .) That's cool that you got a different intro though - hadn't heard about that.
  17. QUOTE (tripdad @ Sep 20 2012, 06:05 AM) I agree...Mint Green...kinda cool According to the builder, it's actually Surf Green. And, it was pre-treated to look worn and weathered. discussed at TalkBass
  18. I agree that adding Losing It would be great. I posted this in another thread, trying to make the case for it. QUOTE Subdivisions Big Money Force Ten Grand Designs Body Electric Territories Analog Kid Middletown Dreams Where's My Thing xx* Far Cry Caravan Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies The Wreckers Headlong Flight Guitar Intro Halo Effect 7 Cities of Gold The Garden Manhattan Project Dreamline YYZ The Spirit of Radio Tom Sawyer 2112 *That list is entirely songs they are currently playing in the various setlists, and would be my order choice based on that. However, if I could get them to add one, it would be Losing It at the xx mark before Far Cry. Audrey Solomon is clearly the more popular violinist of the ensemble, given the male dominated crowd. She could take her place on the riser as Alex and Geddy return at the end of Neil's WMT? solo piece. That list would be easy to do since they already have those songs in rotation. I don't think adding Losing It would be that big of a tweak - maybe right after their break the first week of October. It's a song that a lot of fans have wanted, would tie into the Signals-themed tour book cover, would feature one of the string players they already have with them, and would pump a little energy into those fans attending multiple shows. It wouldn't cause too much disruption in the light/ video show to coordinate, as you could add a simple spot on Ms. Solomon for the violin solo. The song is in Geddy's lower range and features more music than lyrics, so it wouldn't be that big of an additional demand on his vocals. And, the first set is a little thin, so it would help pad the time there, since the total number of songs in the setlist is also down this tour.
  19. John Arrowsmith has some more great photos from this show. Detroit Pictures I don't know if this person got sticks or not, but that's hilarious. http://imageshack.us/a/img29/7812/stickwe.jpg
  20. 21. QUOTE (devoidzer0 @ Sep 13 2012, 03:02 PM) Well, Geddy did say "auspicious," but we all get his meaning and sentiment. Here's an MP3 of the full Bravado performance from 9/11 in Pittsburgh along with Geddy's intro: http://masiweb.net/misc/rush_bravado2012-09-11.mp3 Ah, well, so he did!
